Phil Doyle should be a good chance of being up there in the Div 1R Medal. Another cracker of a year for the Captain.

Don't put any credence in the medal count, from what I have seen again of umpires decisions on the field and comments on here by others through out the season as to their performance, no one seems to think they know what they are doing either, so why would we hang with bated breath on votes determined by people we have no faith in for any other decisions to decide who is a division best overall player, for me thanks but no thanks.
Have already fully backed our players in our club medal count.

Maybe the word got around that 20-odd Paralowie blokes were going to be there, and it would be too crowded... ;)

How a side can be outscored 31-23 to 1-1 and a player score votes from losing side is a disgrace
the amount of times i saw this last night throughout the grades was mind boggling to say the least! No disrespect to the guys that won medals but geez takes some shine off if you ask me!

They can't get it right at AFL level let alone SAAFL, should we seriously expect them to get it right?

Bradman, I can tell you that it certainly does take the shine off of it....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

because often the team scoring 30 odd goals puts in a total team performance with only 1 or 2 standouts while the team that scores 1 goal has a player that is clearly putting in a good game and is second or third best on ground.
i've umpired games like this where the losing side provides a vote winner because of the above allied with the fact that the winning side will rotate players through positions and the bench while the player from the losing side clearly wins his position - which is usually either on the ball or at one of the key defensive positions and his player doesn't score.

Not hard to compehend that surely the best 3 players on the ground must come from the side who has had 50 odd shots at goal to 2.
Not saying that any bloke who won a medal didnt deserve it but just amazes me.

50 scoring shots to 2
if he was 2nd or 3rd best im sure with all his touches he could conger up some blokes in scoring positions more than twice if he was 2nd or 3rd best on ground
Cmon seriously!!!!

I tend to agree, we won every game all year and in the first 9 games the closest margin was 55 points and we only had 2 occasions all year where we got 3-2-1.

Having said this i was given BOG in 2 games where i know i played ok but not in the top 10 IMO let alone BOG. Found it funny! Our ump must like me after all hey CHOC!

I dont agree, i think its good the umpires notice the efforts of an individual especially if his side is copping a flogging.
