so when the situation changes 5 months later it seems the committee has spoken with a forked tongue..if that was the deal and everyone was aware of it then i think they did the wrong thing by the player but got the chocolates anyway

I agree Zed, everyone was more than happy for Bassett to play games during the year but when it came evident that they probably wouldnt need him to claim the flag, players suddenly became unhappy with the arrangement. Poor form.

This was my thoughts when i first read this thread....im sure they were all happy when they were informed in march that he would be playing....

Can anyone else see the irony of some contributors on the Div 4 thread condemning Mark Rucciuto & PAOC for relying on him so heavily to win the GF and yet on this thread, criticising POS for making the decision to play a mere mortal over Nathan Bassett.

Unbelievable

Yeah spot on Rotter. Guess people just like having a whinge after all....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Not sure that makes sense...dont think Zed's or my arguement has anything to do with where Bassett played before - its about an agreement.

FWIW, Roo, Bassett, Perrie, etc playing SAAFL is all good IMO. They only people who complain are jealous ones.

Oh agreement smeement, if player power spoke which from what I understand happened then so be it, that's POS's choice. I would imagine it's something Bassett will learn very soon when he coaches.

So are you one of those people who dont believe that the above mentioned blokes have a place in the SAAFL ?

And player power ? Since when do players decide on who gets picked for a GF ? Sets a dangerous precedent.

Not at all Felch, the more the better as far as I'm concerned but there must have been an over-whelming need for POS to protect the consistent participants of that club than honour an egreement made in February. Let's not forget the President of POS is also Bassett's Manager so I'd suggest this is been blown out of proportion.
