I think it is the final draw but why doesn't your C grade just triple up with your A's and B's. Isn’t every C3 team the same as Div. 3 ?

I thought the deal was triple headers would be the go and the C grades were designed to make this easier and then D grade teams play standalone games so it doesn't make finding trainers etc.. harder

Technically you're not allowed to go "down" after playing higher.
That said, as you mentioned, it happens a lot and most sides turn a blind eye to it.

Fair enough given most C Grades relying on B Graders coming back are generally relying on them to make up numbers/are getting flogged anyway. At that level it's better the game goes on then relying on stringent applications of the rules.

Pretty sure that the C Grade game doesn't qualify for finals eligibility (in that circumstance) so no real dramas.

As a fellow Div 3 and C3 club my understanding is that GG had the choice of their C grade following their A/B or aligning with their D grade. They chose the latter but this only gives them alignment for home games. To make things work for Div 3 and the other 8 Div 3 clubs with teams in C3, Golden Grove have been paired with Westminster (who don't have a C grade). So this means when you play GG in Div 3 your C grade has a BYE and when you play Westminster at your home ground your C grade plays GG in a triple header and when you play Westminster at Glandore, your C grade head to GG which is the only time that the other 8 clubs have their C grade separated assuming the fixture doesn't change again. It's impossible for GG C & D grade to be paired for Away games. The only way this works is if your C/D are in Div 7/7R like a TTG.

It does actually make sense that the C grade play all 10:15 games as triple headers with the A & B grade sides to be honest. Not sure why we knocked that on the head. It would fix any issue with support staff - that is if the staff that does the A and B grades were willing to do three games instead of just two but I dont know. honestly didnt even pick up that this year C3 is aligned with Div3 sides which is a good thing. I just thought that our D grade would have been in C6 as it would suit better geographically and Iggies in C5 as there are more city/south and west sides and they played in the GF in that grade last season. Doesnt matter in the end, kind of good to play against some sides that we havent seen for sometime too - should tick up close to 400 saafl games this year and have never played Rosewater before so theres a first.

Looks like Fitzroy have filled the void in C5, making it a 10 team comp.

The fixture also had a bye only last week so don't be surprised if something else changes..

Noticed in the C1 draw we play everyone twice in triple headers accept for ROCs and Goodies who we play 4 times each.. obviously this accounts for Salisbury North and Gullies (div 7).. but seems to mean that some sides will be petter positioned to make finals if they get to play a weaker team twice.

Assuming it is all still subject to change? i liked the last draw when we had bye's thrown in!

Late 80's was juniors mate!
I remember playing U/15's there and the whole Rosewater side got out of 3 cars...... all driven by the players.

I remember playing 17's or something like that for Smithifeld against Salisbury and we all jumped in the back of our team mates dads Boral tipper to get there.

Can't imagine something like that happening in the CDFA.
