Adelaide Footy League Talk

Your mail on Hooks coaching Trinity is correct.
Apparently unhappy with the way Elizabeth treated him - kind of understandable too by sounds of the story I got.

According to someone I was talking to - he also applied for a job in the Riverland (not sure with who) but an unwillingness to move to the region stopped him getting the job.

What country leagues has he been playing in. How are the Kooka's looking for next season? Also is Peter South still coaching the reserves (terrific bloke) and was he offered the A-Grade job?

Not sure on that one.
Last I heard he was thinking about retiring, not about leaving to play elsewhere.

I played cricket with Hooker a few years ago, and found him to be easy to get along with and also happy to help other improve, he even tried to teach me how to bowl an outswinger.

Without knowing the story is very strange to finish in the top 4 and get sacked. But then they seem to having a new coach each year out there at eagle land

he has been playing for maitland in the yorke peninsula comp, so far kenilworth are looking good for next year, have recruited a couple of A1 players, peter south has coached at the club for the last 3 years and he wasnt offered the a grade job, he is a good bloke and would be welcome back at the club in any capacity he would like.

As you suspected Cracker, Halliday is looking at several offers - not just BLG. Confirmed.
No decision's been made. Getting a few other things sorted out before he makes a decision.

I would be surprised if he was getting paid very much.
He started his senior career there and went back to complete some unfinished business with his mates Switala, Rogers, Thomas etc. Achieved a premiership, hung around an extra year - so he's done alright.

But yes, the Eagles are going to need to recruit smartly if they're to progress higher without him. Club's not got really that much to offer financially though. Those days disappeared long ago.

Can anyone from Central United or from div six last season tell me how Joey Abdulla went with the Units last year?

He's an Aboriginal player, most probably played in defence....

Big Benny H is not lookin around at clubs as usual clubs are looking for him. Benny has refused to be paid anything from EFC because he plays where his heart is, such is the man.
Dave Rogers has come back so that will be a big factor in his return. I will keep all updated when the club knows.

So has Peter South got any involvement with the club for the 2007 season?

Is he taking any players with him Lizbef?

I know a lot of the story and ill say that all the guys that have played wiith him back a few years ago, hated him as coach and the guys like myself who hadnt played with him liked him. Politics!

I like the guy and i hope he does well. I wouldnt even mind goin out there 4 a year myself to run amok in Div 7. hahaha
