Split the SFL into Two Leagues/Divisions

Junior and BP you make great points! It refreshing to see that this forum has blokes on it talking sense, the SFL I believe need to take a real good look at themselves and soon.
To develop and maintain the league changes MUST happen, people on the SFL Committee are not the be all and end all of Southern Football, locals and people with half an idea need a voice.
I had no idea about the juniors numbers for each club, something needs to be done. There needs to be a zoning system for Juniors and for areas with surplus they need to make a case to keep em or send em to neighbouring clubs.

Couldn't agree with you more FM. The SFL committee need to do something soon before the league becomes a complete shambles! Also i don't know how much help the div 2 sides got once it became 1 div but obviously not much when the powerhouse clubs continue to thrive and the smaller clubs cop threats of being kicked out the league unless they pull juniors out of the arses. Really is disappointing.

Here's a scenario for you all, last time this sought of thing happend was in the days of the CDFA (same as SFL but in Northern suburbs)

I just think you need to divs, a genuine relegation system, junior program with zones and then you can also have inter-association games for juniors etc.

This will also make for stronger seniors, at the moment South Adelaide are shit, always have been and at this rate will continue to avoid September action like the plague! Fix your juniors, mix the seniors into 2 divs and see what happens.

Otherwise the weak will fold and amalgamate, the strong will get bored and quality football will squander.
The wankers that think all is good with the league now are onbviously blind sided and from current leading clubs.

You cant force a kid to play footy at a particular club. I know the SANFL has zoning regulations, but the SANFL is also a much more important competition. Its only natural that kids will head to the clubs that have success, because they too want to have success. The only thing that can be done is to drop the div 2 junior sides. Then the surplus of players will head to the neighbouring clubs where they can get a game. This could also have a negative effect and the kids who dont make the 1st team may leave the game altogether.
