Adelaide Uni Coach

Postby Rotter » Fri Jul 27, 2007 1:06 am

I hear today that regardless of the outcome for the Blacks this season, wether that be relegation or to stay as is, though that looks extreemly unlikely, that the Board of the Uni Footy Club unanimously voted for the re-appointment of Tony Roach to guide them through this period of time. Interestingly, Roach who many on this forum have slammed for being a mercenary in the past did not need to be asked twice and is more than happy and considered it a priviledge to be involved at that club.

Lads I agree with the comments about giving the coaching job to John Kernahan. He is very experinced and understands the culture of Uni. Should put his hand up.

Edwardstown are going to Southern league next year so Uni will still be in Div 1, saved by the SAAFL.

Can't happen, won't happen. If it does then its a real look at how pathetic the SAAFL is within it ranks.

I would be extremely suprised if Roach gets reappointed , i know they are exploring all coaching options that are available and a gun player coach is high on there shopping list to get them back up to A1 ASAP .

Hafey, you are either enormously ignorant or dyslexic as it's already been stated that Roach has been reappointed already. If you knew anybody that knew anything you'd know that. If you're starting on about this again so you can give it to Roach in the neck don't bother, it's as boring and predictable as you are.

Blacks130, You need to wake up and get your head out of the sand . Coaching a club to second last and relegation back to A2 isnt going to secure the job for 2008 when there is better candidates out there to take the club forward . Roach has been given the nod but my mail is they are still hoping to secure the services of other suitable options .

We all know what happens when a coach gets " full support of the board "
What i dont know about football isnt worth knowing .

I've often wondered about the relationship that other clubs have with Uni - clubs like Broadview seem to have a real respect while many others just want to punch the crap out of anybody playing for Uni.
yeah, there are some tools out at the Blacks but show me a club that doesn't have a few bad apples. most clubs reflect society and there's some fools everywhere
i can only hope that Uni don't go the way of Kilburn among others, and this relegation is not the start of a slide down through d2 and into d3. I'd like to think that the club would be big enough to take it on the chin and do the hard yards to get back into div 1 without changing its ethos or whining too much.

what has happened to Adelaide Uni?
now this might be a stupid question but has the slide got partly to do with the Uni union fees being cancelled? (genuine question)
Because the Fed Gov has abolished Union Fees has it had an effect on the football side of things or any other sport within Adelaide Uni. (discount books etc.)
i am curious.

lol @ lizbeff..uni needs to realise that the world dont revolve around it..i bet they squeeze back in thru townies going to sfl

and burglar..thats just to funny..they lost because their players werent as good as the other 9 teams..simple..no deep dark reasons..just not good enough..hell..they have been good enough for 100 years ..gotta have one or two years where things might go wrong

maybe lots of teams dont like uni for the years when uni used to drop a1 players into other grades when the a1 had byes etc..or having gun players in an old div 9 or 10 comp when the opposition were just social players having a kick

the world wont stop spinning ..dont worry :D

Well don't reply or contribute to the posts then, it's not that hard.

With all sincerity, all the best for all clubs participating in the finals.

Seriously,Uni only take footballers and in general dont give individuals a real sense of club and social environment in regards to what it takes to run a family and community orientated club, their cricket situation is the same.As much as they have been an institution in both forms over the years time has come that Uni with no junior responsibilities or involvement are now being recognized as non contributers in social development in sport.
