Ha ha - I did wear Doggies gear one year.
My first footy trip with Elizabeth was to Mildura and it was also the year Centrals made their first GF.
A mate of mine had his missus stay at a hotel outside of town on the Saturday night, pick us up at 5.30 or thereabouts and drive us to Footy Park for the GF. We lost, but oh well.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

last year i got dropped of the bus out the front of aami stadium from Mildura. Got there at 1/4 time. Ended up leaving woodville oval at about 3 or 4 in the morning. Then went on a detox for 3 weeks. Was a massive footy trip. Mildura is a good spot hopefully Mt gambier will be good
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

They gave me the boot too... Aparantly (and this is what I can vaguely recall) I was jumping around being a wanker on the floor in front of the band and was spilling my scotch (which was in a bottle, by the way) over everyone. I can't really argue as I was in no state to take any notice...

Also went to The Sandbar, bit smaller and more chilled-out but still a good spot. Walking distance to Maccas.

That Maccas in Mildura needs to open 24/7 on weekends in September/October, would make an absolute killing...

Mt Gambier is pretty good Schimma - some of the locals don't appreciate you being down there, but they get over it pretty quickly - we are probably going to be there too that weekend (Hope Valley FC) - have been there about 7 times in the last 10 years, so we are becoming locals! Where you staying?
I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept your head on a swivel, and that's what you gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious cock fight!

Old Jail is OK, very budget accomodation but dont need much more for a footy trip, nothing can be broken so not a huge chance of losing a bond! Went to Mildura last year and stayed somewhere the week after SMOSH, the owner wasnt overly impressed with fireworks let off in a bedroom... anyone care to elaborate??

Yeah we have never stayed there - we always stay at the Gambier Hotel, so no doubt we will see you there - is one of the better night spots down there..

Went (Balaklava FC) to Mildura last year as well. Ducked out to the Manangatang Races on the Saturday. Senstational.
There were a fair few Netball trips floating around the joint as well.

I reckon they were on a couple of weeks after the AFL GF.
If you Google 'Manangatang Races' a date should come up. It gets a fair crowd out there. Cheap piss as well only $3 for a stubbie.
