Simple answer yes club B can kick up a stink because they have a contract signed.

I didn't think they could unless the clearance had been completed.

Well i think club b can go to the league and say they have a contract in place. So then b and c would have to work something out also

I'm sure this question has been answered a million times but this contract/clearance thing goes over my head at times.
Can someone confirm this scenario please:
Player has played at club A for x amount of years.
Decides to sign with club B, signs contract in October
Has now been given opportunity to play at higher level (aka offered more money) and now wants to sign at club C instead.
As it's not Feb 1, club B has no leg to stand on because the clearance has to come from club A and he can freely go to club C without club B being a pain in the arse about it?
This is why clearances should open Nov 1, the day after contracts expire.

Cant club B only hold it if there is money involved i.e. signing fee?

Club B can't do shit. Contracts are only valid once the clearance is approved. This is why clubs should never do sign on bonuses.
Also, I agree clearances should open in October or November so that this sort of thing doesn't happen, or at least club B has more control.

The key to the whole contact is in black and white up the top "This Playing Contract does not come into effect until the player has been cleared from his previous Club/League (if applicable)."

Sign on fees are outlawed nowadays.

actually, in this instance, it's not about any money.
Thanks for the reminder all.
FYI - it's been suggested that clearances will open next year from November 1 to December 1 (and then again in Feb 2017) to soft trial early clearances to avoid all this.

No amateur league sign on bonuses is called "The Cupido Rule"

haha BL are the talk in all threads... FYI only 4 denied out of 13 in there and I am not involved in any of this whatsoever but I would assume they likely owe money.
Further FYI is 3 approved, 1 cancelled and 5 pending (and we know why the pending ones are being held up)... Not as bad as you guys make it sound!
