Didnt take Brett Penn long to put the boots back on!

Nugget, our Mudge was out with us boys in town on Sat night and lo and behold we bump into your Mudge and had a good chat. Should be a good game this week, especially if those two go head to head :D

yeah NIck missed out this week unfortunately due to work but he'll be right for this week and keen as due to the brotherly love factor. he played up front against Flinders and was a good target for us but he's a bit nervous in front of goals... he's def better value back in defence but we'll see how it all goes on saturday...
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

SHOC are a good unit with some quality young fellas which will no doubt play at a higher level once they get the experience under their belt...they had their chances to really hurt us in the 1st half but we stuck in there and were able to over run them in the 2nd half.

The boys are playing good footy and we hope to keep it going this week against Adelaide Uni which will not be an easy task on their oval....B grade also had a great win and knocked of SHOC's D's for the 1st time ever i reckon after being down by 6 goals in the 1st quarter they fought back well, they are looking forward to tackling Legrand and his merry men this week.

Rumor is Legrand out till after the long weekend due to an incident saturday night involving a few too many baileys & milk.

North Pines injury list sounds massive but surely theres no excuse for blokes turning up to the wrong ground then simply going home??

Riddler, 6 weeks into the season hows the club settling in at Mawson Lakes?

The boys are loving it down there at the moment and it has spilled out into our on field play at the moment, really good vibe around the place. The playing surface is 100% better than the college and the clubrooms are proving a great success.

Slight hiccup couple weeks ago with a break in but you get that, the lighting for training aint the best but hopefully this will be improved down the track.

Looking at the 7R leading goal kickers...couple of ex-crabs up the pointy end. Can anyone stop the rampaging Vezis boys from Adelaide Uni?

49 goals in 3 weeks between them is pretty impressive for 2 guys with a combined age of nearly 80

Can not comment on there C grade as this week I had other commitments and could not stick around for the A grade game. Will say that from what I saw there D grade is better skilled and work better as team than there C grade.

I thought that their D grade looked stronger as well. It was definately a disappointing game for our A grade to lose. Novosel to kick a massive bag this week as I didnt see anyone that would be able to keep him quiet. I wouldnt be suprised if Novosel kicked 10 + goals this weekend

Not sure where you got the info about players turning up at the wrong ground then going home. We did have a couple of players go to the wrong ground in the B grade but they eventually made it to the game.
Would like to comment on the B grade game though. Full credit must be given to the blokes from Nth Pines who did turn up. Although we finished the game with 12 on the field they never gave up and showed great spirit. We probably should have forfeited the game but I was mistakenly informed that we had 15 players to start the game including myself but when we got out there we only had 13. 2 more blokes did turn up to give us 15 5 mins into the 1st quarter. From there we got an injury to 1 guy half way through the 1st and at half time we had a guy storm off. At 3 quarter time the A grade took another player so we played the 4th quarter with 12 blokes. Needless to say we had no forward line for the majority of the game and it was all 1 way traffic.
I had a word with the old guy that runs the canteen at Adelaide Uni after the game. He basically said that he was impressed with how our guys never stopped trying even with the numbers we had out there.
As a coach I am furious at how players can just not turn up with out contacting any body and when I catch up with these blokes they will here about it. Our injury list is massive but still that is no excuse for the poor showing we put on. We picked 2 full teams on Thursday night so numbers was not an issue. Some people just need to pull there heads in.

From an A grade players point of view Im with you Bigshow in being absolutely furious about the players who didnt turn up. It shows little to no respect for not only your team, but the club and the supporters who come out to watch us play week in week out.

The hard part about it for the coaching staff is that you would normally drop the offenders for the following game or two, but if it means taking only 17 or 18 players into a game it makes you think twice. Not simply because you want to bring a full side into the game, but because you effectively punish those 17 or 18 blokes that do play by not having a bench. A real conundrum!
