I don't really wanna talk about it. The side we put out was very undermanned, but yeah, not a good day. But full credit to Scotch, they definitely weren't the worst side we've played this year.

Congrats to Darren Reeves, played his 100th game yesterday, which was also his last. Top effort to get himself up the way he has but the body can't do it anymore. Top bloke.

Actually a bit of both. The guys played well and so did Mitcham. I will say that surely you need to have firtsly a licence to right in pen before you can umpire Div3 A grade. Not only was it made clear by our supporters and players but a amateur league official not from Portland brought up the arguement that the younger (barely looked like he was out of nappies) was way to responsive to Mitcham and had no real understanding of some critical decisions. XRunna you can say what you like pal the official saw it and so did everyone at the ground. He was an absolute disgrace but Mitcham came away with the points and thats what counts. Still good signs for the club. The 2's showed some real guts t o close in on Mitcham. But for a club that values its B grade more than its A grade what do you do. Theres always next week

Bad Luck To the Portland Boys. Unlucky.

Walkervilles 2's are a quality side. Probably cos half of their side should be playing in their A grade. Redhead guy for them Destroyed us. Good hard running Player. Nice bloke too.

Another good win for SMOSH without really playing to the best of our ability. TBH the Scoreboard probally flattered Walkerville in the end.

On a side note, Tribunal outcome on wednesday will be very interesting. Gutless prick.

No excuses from where i sit Xrunna, only ourselves to blame. Severe lack of discipline (continuous mouthing off at ump) cost us dearly in the end, but the better side probably won on the day. We came back twice from sizeable margins, think we were 30 points down early in the last. Cracking game of footy, 24 goals were kicked between the 2 sides in the first half (13 to 11 i think). It was as quick and free flowing footy as i have seen at Port Reserve for a few years. Second half became more a scrap, but still a good contest. Mitcham very quick side, that can burst a game wide open within minutes. The Hawks did seem to run out of puff, for the second week in a row i believe, but that would happen with the type of footy they are trying to play. There was some kind of issue with the score at games end aswell, the goal umps and both clubs officials had different scorelines, but all just added to the drama. The rivalry between us and Mitcham thickens !!! Good stuff !!!

Xrunna, seems these 'rumours' Piccachu mentioned about you blokes are gaining legs. Someone mentioned something about it to me on the weekend, and i actually take this person serious (unlike Piccachu ;) ).
Have you blokes lost some players over the last few weeks due to payment issues ? Person i spoke to was adament you have. Dont shoot the messenger by the way, just stating whats obviously getting talked about around the traps.

Turbo, Walkies B grade are very good. Thought they would beat you, but not by so much !!! They do resemble an A grade side, thats for sure ! ;)

Well Felch you can take it from me the person giving you the information on players leaving is wrong we have lost no one and we take our obligations to our players seriously so lets consider this rumour that is (gaining legs) consider the legs cut off at the knees.

Just on another point looking at the saafl site shouldnt Para Hills be 2nd on ladder now and not 4th and to who made the comment "watch out for the hills will be breathing fire after last weeks loss" They did and looked a lot better than the last 2 weeks.

Fair enough Big Red. As i said, only repeating whats already out there. Usually rumours start from in-house, and exaggerate from there. I know from past experience, when you recruit guys, certain players who have been at a club for a long time can get their noses out of joint and think they deserve some of the spoils too, especially when you are up at the pointy end of the ladder. It can derail a season though. From what i have seen, and heard, your recruits this year have been very, very good and well worth anything they are getting.

Interested to hear your view Xrunna, although from what im told, your opinion doesnt hold much weight around PH anyway...

You arent trying to make excuses for the weekend already, are you Flying Scotsman ? ;)[/quote]

Maybe if you Portland people concentrated on playing footy and winning games rather than getting on this forum and talking rubbish you might actually be a chance of staying in div 3 next year. Smosh dont need to be making early excuses for their up coming performances cause we have good depth at our club and can compensate injuries in our A grade. Score definately flattered Walkerville on Sat. Good to see Turbo back in some form and pushing for A grade selection.

The ' ;) ' symbol usually means it was 'tongue-in-cheek' FS...if you check my tips, i actually picked SMOSH

Noticed you only posted AFTER the you guys won, fair enough though, i expect that...

As for me getting kicks, if that starts happening, well we are in trouble. Maybe do your homework a bit more before shooting your mouth off. I dont hide behind a username, either does Fisty. We are fully accountable for anything we say on here, and prepared to back it up.

Back to relevant footy talk, Keiran Flanigan from Mitcham has to be the quickest bloke running around in D3. Can anyone think of another player with more leg speed ? McEvoy is quick too, but Flanigan was fantastic on the weekend.

number 7 half back flank for para hills
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Massive wins from Mitcham in all 3 grades on the weekend. A grade by the smallest margins. Mitcham had opportunites to put the game away in both the 2nd and 4th quarter but to Portlands credit they fought back to very last minute. Questions need to be asked about Portlands depth, as the season progresses and injuries occur are they going to be able to keep playing competitive football? Last year Portlands B grade was a very strong side, however this year both their Bs and Cs are struggling!

If There is someone quicker then Cibich in teh competition, I look forward to seeing them!

Keep in mind Felch you saw Cib on a wet, boggy field. Hes lightning on the wide expanses of Bartley tce.

Gees Schimma, hope I'm not playing b's this week, what with St Peters havign that extra player running around.

Fair call on our depth, it will be tested for sure. Probably 5-6 of our regular B graders from last year are now playing A grade each week, and think we have lost another 5-6 B graders who are just not playing anymore, or are not training at all, so dont get picked. Thats almost 2/3's of a side. We have a pretty strict rule on training and playing, so sometimes that means that we are left a bit short ability wise in the B's but at least i have blokes who want to be fair dinkum. We will be giving some U18's a taste of senior footy in the coming weeks too, already a handful are playing.

Hardy Hit, thought my CHB did a great job on you on the weekend by the way. Looked like it could get ugly early, but you were pretty quiet.
