Keep in mind Felch you saw Cib on a wet, boggy field. Hes lightning on the wide expanses of Bartley tce.

Gees Schimma, hope I'm not playing b's this week, what with St Peters havign that extra player running around.

Yeah true, it was wet. But you havent seen Flanigan yet either - i have seen both !!! Sometimes hard to gauge the difference between great acceleration and outright speed though. He looked like he had both !!!

That extra player SPOC have is very handy for them too... ;)

Felch, or other Portland lads for that matter, is Todd Shannon still playing out there? I didn't see him in either side or watching at Anzac day.

Was a pretty handy player for memory - even with certain habits considered!

Fair call on our depth, it will be tested for sure. Probably 5-6 of our regular B graders from last year are now playing A grade each week, and think we have lost another 5-6 B graders who are just not playing anymore, or are not training at all, so dont get picked. Thats almost 2/3's of a side. We have a pretty strict rule on training and playing, so sometimes that means that we are left a bit short ability wise in the B's but at least i have blokes who want to be fair dinkum. We will be giving some U18's a taste of senior footy in the coming weeks too, already a handful are playing.

Hardy Hit, thought my CHB did a great job on you on the weekend by the way. Looked like it could get ugly early, but you were pretty quiet.

Quin had a good game considering its only his 2nd for the season. He's naturally superfit and he said after the game he didn't know what player it was who was meant to be standing him. From what it looked like he had a few players to compete against in the air, which loosened up other Mitcham players. Always good to have a player like Quin in ya foward line that attracts alot of attention! Hopefully he'll keep up the form and be playing in A's shortly!

james cibich from smosh
number 7 half back flank for para hills

Hmmm, yeah Cibich is quick, not as quick as Flanigan though IMO.

#7 for PH ?, thats Thach isn't it ? Is he quick ? I know he likes posting in capital letters... ;)

Yeah thats THACH. Just ask him and he'll tell you that he's the quickest ;)

Haha, yeah right. #25, long sleeve guernsey was Quinn's opponent - would have thought he was lucky to have 4-5 kicks. Are you trying to say he was double-teamed ? I can tell you, there was no instruction to do that, and i should know ;) . On Saturday's form, would be a little way off A grade i think, especially when he was beaten by a guy that doesnt train due to work. Im guessing the 'superfit' comment was sarcasm. Not sure Mitcham's depth is as good as other years either. A good side should not let an opposition kick 8 goals in a quarter, regardless of the game situation.

Hardy Hit, I get the feeling you aren't fooling anyone speaking in third person. With 1.5 it's fair too say Quina was only 'kept quiet' by his own poor kicking. From what I saw, he had a lot of it.

In the A's, should have won the game twice, with poor goal kicking almost proving costly (T Cza had two shockers 20 meters out straight in front).

As for the umpring, didn't think it was that bad, but could certainly tell the young one was influenced by players calling for frees, but thought it went both ways. Don't forget - neither umpire managed to pick up on the fly kick to the throat on Flanigan in the last!!!

I agree on the umpiring, it was pretty good.

I think a 'fly-kick' is stretching it a bit - more like a 'fend off', with a foot ;)

for the umpiring i dont think it was that bad my oppinion was the younger feller was the better of the 2 he was clear with his decission and i didnt think made to many bad ones as for the other peanut that works at the ramsgate, he sent me off with the blood rule when i was bleading from my nose and my back was turned to him as he sent me off i asked how he knew it was bleeding his reply was i seen his fist hit you in the nose in the marking contest, not sure but i thought you might wanna rule it to high when you see a defender belt someone in the nose in a one one one marking contest in the goal square

Poor goal kicking indeed. Number 24 - 60m out and to put the game out of reach for Portland... out of bound on the full.. an unrealistic attempt for goal from a player who struggles to kick a drop punt!

All you need to do is check the team sheets. As for recruits we have only recruited 2 new players and as with most clubs we have had about 4 or 5 "walk ins". Our team is basiclly the same as last year.
Round 1, 3 new players
Round 2, 4 new
Round 3, 4 new plus 1 playing first senior game
Round 4, 4 new
Round 5, 4 new
round 6, 4 new.
I would be interested to see what the make up of new players other clubs have.

Zero new players have played a grade this year.

No debuts AFAIK.

2 Long term players have returned to the club. Thats about it. Younger players have become key players though - that where our improvement has come I think. And me not playing. That's a big plus for us.
