One more boys...

a great game of football in div 7, now I have heard it all.

I reckon thats a pretty average comment DOLS. A great game of footy can happen at any level of Footy. I played in an absolute cracker against PAC ia an Under 13 game 25 years ago and that was a cracker even if it was 12 -13 year old kids. I played in a fast paced, action packed, tight, tense, tough game of C grade yesterday. Having seen a bit of both teams and knowing some of the talent floating around in both squads i dont doubt for a second that it was a red hot final that would have been a sh*t hot game of footy to watch.
Well done to Wayne and the boys who have worked so hard to turn their club around and now get to reep the rewards booking themselves a spot in Div 6 next year not to mention a crack at a Premiership on grand final day which can and probably will be another great game of footy 8) .

With respect marbles, does that mean the umpires got it wrong too. Lovedar 10 votes, Wilson 8 votes behind Bennetts 18 and Fairclough with 13. Just asking.

yanks im surprised that morell and the gang are seeking to come to this weeks game and intentionally disrupt the peace with possible drunken behaviour, when your mission as leader, with division 1 experience, is striving to set higher standards for your new club to raise the MP name into the higher divisions and higher regard, but yet u seem not at all fussed by your group coming to spectate and make fools of everyone as long as they go by the alias of the marion football club  is that professionalism?

Marbles you aren't changing the subject again to avoid talk about you facing TTG this week are you? Anyone would think you don't want MP there at your game for fear they will be cheering and supporting TTG on  Yank Man has done an unbelievable job down at MP i've been told by people round the traps and I guess the proof is in the pudding they're in Div 6 next year and are red hot favs to win a Premiership, must be doing something right hey

So TTG versus Henley in the Prelim Final. A battle for honours amongst the 'C' grade teams. Albeit with many ex A grade players, good luck lads.

hahah, nice avoidance of the question and move into a troll marbles - but I will bite anyway.

When did anyone suggest disrupting the peace or drunken behaviour? I know a few people would get a laugh out of the idea of me being drunk and rowdy. I am an absolute animal when I get on it. Pffft.

Some MPFC people might have been a bit of a shock to the sensibilities of the hoity toighty Henley types with their bad tattoos and haircuts but there was absolutely no inappropriate behaviour what so ever when we watched that final, in fact quite a few of the Henley supporters had a laugh with us. It was all in good fun, including the aforementioned Mexican wave. It was a bit of an in-joke in regards to the “Marion Football Club” as one of the Henley people asked where we were from and we said Marion as a joke. Once or twice the swearing was not appropriate for children but that was self moderated by us. There were a couple of people that we encouraged not to drive home, but no one was overtly or heavily intoxicated at all. All in all a really good day enjoyed by all.

Keep on keeping on marbles and maybe lighten up a bit. Life isn’t all vindictive – are you called marbles because you have marbles up your jacksy?

In 2 weeks the team of the year will be announced so here's your last chance guys to have input. Put up or shut up is what I've been told. Having had some communication with the selectors here is a rough draft.

T Mackereth N McDonnell A Matthews
(Nth Pines) (Mitch Pk) (Angle Vale)

J Wilson L McDonnell D Roughton
(Henley) (Mitch Pk) (TTGully)

M Mazey G Mount ????????
(Mitch Pk) (TTGully) ????????

????????? P Early M Harrison
????????? (Angle Vale) (Mitch Pk)

S Hartwell A Rossack ????????
(Nth Pines) Angle Vale) ????????

Rucks
C Dow (TTGully)
S Lindholm ( Mitch Pk)
S Fairclough (Henley)

I/C
E Bennetts (Henley) ruck change
???????????
???????????

A genuine winger, a genuine half back flanker and back pocket are what's missing. M Lane from Smithfield polled 17 votes in the medal and should be considered highly along with M Pitcher from Flinders Pk and maybe 'cows' can say where he plays, and M Rowe from Flind Uni is good off half back. Remember players must have played 13 games minimum and be selected in the position they play on game day.

Lane from smithfield has to be an in he played either HBF or wing when they played us very good attacking HBF i think.

I believe Creek from Angle Vale should be in there no one has beaten him when he plays his work ethic and marking for a small forward across HF has been a key to Vale and gives off more passes to forwards then he kicks himself. May not poll many votes but to me the best HF i have seen this year.

Back Pocket would be Swedenson Hanumann ask Wilson from Henley he would say toughest opponent he has had and others in forward lines would agree 5ft 6 and takes on tall defenders all the time, and wins

Can be Biasis but i am giving two that any coach would want in there side.

Picther very good player and should fit in there nice somewhere and Roughton played on wing when we played them i think, gr8 fitness level.

We play Mal Pitcher through the middle and rest him on a HFF. Be good to see him rewarded along with all the other fella's that have had good years. Congrats to all who make the side.

I would like to formally nominate Brad Steele (Mitchell Park) for the back pocket position.

Justification:

- He is an actual back pocket, not a key defender or midfielder who has been put there because there are no other spots
- Voice and leadership has been fantastic, we all know Steeley has always had this ability, but this year it has been really important
- Flexibility has meant time up forward, time on larger opponents, time on smaller quick opponents, and he has, by and large, towelled them all up
- Disposal whilst not pretty, has been really good this year, he has had countless “wtf was that steeley?” type moments where everyone has been surprised how elite it was
- Accountability is literally second to none. Always does the team thing, always contributes, always helps out his teammates even if it is to his detriment.
- Would be close to leading Mitchell Parks 1%ers count

Steeley would be up there for most improved as well but I don’t think that’s good enough, for mine, I haven’t seen any better bock pockets all year and he is deserving of a spot in the TOTY.

If he is to miss out, please make it to another defender, none of this finding places for the 15th midfielder type palava that the All Australian selectors always get suckered into.

Yeah I would back you on that morell. Deserves a spot. If I am right Yank Man he is the bloke that started on a HFF against us at your ground and done a great job stopping our runners of the half back?
Chris Stephens for us started as a defender but then became a midfielder and I think should be in the team. Either down back or as a midfielder. With the blokes already in the guts possibly starting on the pine.

Hayden Williams and possible Matt Cock from MFC. Althought Coxy did play some B grade games and missed a couple for work - however a 2 time A grade premiership player and almost won the last game v Smithfield off his own boot (only problem he kicked 8 points  )

Maybe Bryce Pollard from SHOC for a spot on the pine?

Only one from SHOC who played most of the year and regularly got votes.

You want him back carey? It's not up to me champ it's up to the selectors. Personally, Creek caused us no grief in our 2 games and that's the only time I have seen him. Players who 'WILL' miss out because of lack of games will be Adam Hay from MP, the one no forward wants to get, Sean Chambers, Josh Mann, Scott Fraser, Chad Quinn and maybe Adam Maschotta, they are all from Tea Tree Gully and are just 'guns' at this level and have played much higher than Div 7. If I was you i would be at Blair Athol Reserve saturday and see what might be coming, around 16-17 players who have all played A1 and A2.

Looking forward to watching TTG v Henley this week. I actually rate Henley a bit of a chance, they got within 2-3 goals late in the game last time and then conceded a few goals to blow out the scoreline. Can TTG get up again after being so close to a GF? What sort of let down if any will they have? Henley would have learnt a hell of a lot (or should have) from their previous final and surely wont let Mount roam free off half back all day. They have the ruckman to at least compete and negate Dow as well. Need a good matchup for Mann, he is a slippery, slippery customer.

TTG were awesome against us, the umpires said it was better than D6 and more like a D5 final as did a couple of neutral supporters, they should be too strong, but I can smell a bit of an upset on the cards.

great weekend for Tea Tree Gully last week with 3 or 4 teams heading into a grand final. It's going to be a huge match on Saturday against Mitchell Park.

No, on sportsbeat it says Payneham oval, but pretty sure it's not locked in yet. I would say Payneham oval is a pretty safe bet however as Div 7 GF was there last year.

Well Marbles you get your chance to spectate this week as you watch TTG and MP battle it out in the GF.... Make sure you are all on your best behaviour. ;) I know the Ingle Farm boys will be as we come down to support a couple of ex team mates and check out the standard we need to play to win div 7 next year.
