Umpiring was terrible for both sides, have to say that i thought the Athelstone were pretty dirty, a lot of cheap shots thrown around the ground, umpires saw a couple from what i could tell but just warnings given. By the end of the game our boys were giving as good as they were receiving. Umpires had lost control. Our bad kicking cost us the game, would like to think that the return trip at our ground will be a big turn around.locky801 wrote:Saw the first half of athelstone and Broadview, great half of footy I saw, lots of pressure all over the ground, Broadies missed 6 set shots in the 1st quarter, probably should have kicked 5 of them, Athelstones run off their half back line was sensational, from what I saw in 1 half of footy the better side on the day won

The more experienced ( Eastern Pk ) were cooler under pressure in the dying minutes of the game against a young Seaton side & i'll take my hat off to Seaton they had a fair dinkum crack & they can hold their heads up.
If Seaton can sustain that same intensity over 4 qtrs against Athelstone & Flinders Pk theres no reason why they can't win both games & if they can do that their reliance on other teams ( Pembroke ) to lose don't come into it.

Nothing would make me happier than that mob from pembroke going down.

Diving for free kicks, sucking out the back of the play and kicking unwarranted goals. Unbelievable acting performance. 4 goals from the fat forward pocket. He has phoned everyone and sent text messages to Ireland and everyone he knows to tell them how he won the game. Like a scene from Deliverance watching Eastern Park play and Boozehound being the star of the day

All credit should go to Dom, he worked pretty hard over the preseason to get him self in decent shape. I think his days in the C grade are well and truely over.

When are they gonna learn this games not about them so i say to them stop trying so hard to stand out over & above the game itself.
One thing the League must look at quickly is the umpires that are supplied from each club to take control of the B grade matches each week, i know we are down on numbers as far as SAAFL umpires are concerned but some of these performers are nothing but 'CHEATS".
I witnessed first hand Saturday at Seaton oval the diabollicle display put on by the away sides umpire, he was nothing short of disgraceful, how anyone can get away with what he does week in week out is beyond me, his performance the last time these sides played was exactly the same & no doubt he got the result he set out to achieve for his side but on the weekend he didn't get the result he wanted & ended up with egg on his face but gee he tried so hard once again to favour his side.
The League must react quickly on this as its tarnishing our great game, its not hard to be fair & consistant with your decision making but as far as i'm concerned these "CHEATS" need to be dealt with harshly or real sh!ts going to hit the fan one day at a game.

Sorry Shirtfront, wasn't to be...
And the umpiring was pretty ordinary again. Were we dirty this time too?

Must say though, thought the carry on after the game was a bit much, the whole bench and supporters rushing the ground??? Fair to say that Carry didn't display the best example of a gracious wining coach with an up yours signal to our bench, thought that was a bit ordinary. Hopefully you blokes don't make the finals, seem to have the wood on us.
