There were only 4 players that had played rep footy previously, unlike the previous years where it was the same core of players coming through from U23's.

Any loss is disappointing but it was our first loss in 4 years, including a carnival in which we went through undefeated.

Losing Craig Holm after the first bounce din't help either.

As they say, there's always next year ;)

I'm hearing that there's a heap of players that said no to playing. Seems to be a bit of a common trend through all rep footy.

Correct - but it's more a common problem when you play at home, you never get your best team. A heap of blokes injured too.

next year we're supposed to be going to QLD - so no doubt there will be much more interest ;)

No Idea, to be honest... I suspect it'd either be Brisvegas or Goldy.

Is there any remuneration for the players? Do players have to pay their one way to play?

That's terrible.

Realistically anyone who is upset about players declining to play Rep footy need only have this in mind

Yep, I pretty much had this confirmed this about 2 mins after it happened, didn't feel the need to sprawl it all over the internet though at the time.

Spoke with him this morning, He'll have it operated on in the next week or so.

I really feel for him. For some reason, it was incredibly hard watching the season of someone so talented come to an end like that - even though I've seen it so many times before. He'd played 23's but this was his first open age rep game, after missing out 2 years ago with his ankle. (I think it was his ankle anyway)

That said, it could've happened next weekend anyway or if he'd played for ROCS this weekend even.

One would hope that it wouldn't make others think twice about putting their hand up.

No one gets paid to represent their side, any interstate games are funded by the league.

I've heard Pulteney forward Tom Langford pulled up lame from the state game, issues with his knees and PFC have told the league any games he misses they want reimbursement for his match payments.
