Sad to say it but lack of cohesion and enthusiasm along with poor disposal is very obvious, Jason Roe has a "mountain to climb" if the guys in this team are to make an impact in the finals such was the poor effort today.

polite way of saying most of these 'players' do not have the guts or passion to get the hard ball. absolute disgrace to past players who may not have had the ability of this rabble but gave their utmost for the club and jumper.
well done to PD, showed what a TEAM can do when prepared to work for each other.

NM, on that point you are correct with the 2-0, not sure on the money aspect, however playing 18 games and getting into the finals is what teams strive for. May I say that Gepps will at least get into the finals campaign, how far they go is debatable, but they are not pulling out the "mothballs" after next Saturdays game like Districts will be.
Incidentally, it was "all class" from a Districts supporter yesterday to one of our female volunteer trainers when he yelled out "get off the ground, you fat bitch"

From what i have heard modbury were dominating the game against ttg and there was no way ttg were goin to win so the right decision was made in awarding them the game

The question has to be asked of gepps cross. So dissapointing for a successful club. The seem to have gone away from what got them to div one in 2002 and won them a flag. 22 mates playing for eachother that year. i do remember a time in the clubs history that that culture changed for the worse and it's not helping them on the field.....sad but true

i would also be interested in hearing about your theory when the 'culture' of GX changed
and in your time at GX did you add to that culture or not.

Remember I am talking about a club I loved here (and still do to some extent) and not slagging them off like your defensive reaction seems to be suggesting moz.

When I first went to Gepps as a 16 year old the club was very tight knit. The senior players looked after the kids extremely well, kept them involved in everything and encouraged them to develop. Some of the best times of my life. That sort of 'culture' was instilled in the boys and lasted after the senior guys retired right up until entering div 1. The core of that group had been together for years. IMO the next year things seemed to change for the worse. No individuals fault just perhaps a changing of the guard resulting from going to div 1. There was more back stabbing and bitching that year than I had ever seen before at the club and that culture seems to have remained since. Gepps, as much as I love the club, is now renowned for that. I must reiterate, this is not a dig at anyone or the club just my opinion.

And Moz, it is not up to me to say whether I added to the culture in a good or bad way however I would suggest you ask the players I played with to get an answer rather than bar flies or other members to get the most accurate answer. But hey that's just my opinion....

BH, a lot of that "bitching" came from some locals because the club brought in some experienced players, (Steed & Carts etc) to help guys like Clonan etc in Div 1 and the perception was that they were on much bigger $$'s than some locals and that caused some internal grief. The impact those guys had in keeping the club in Div 1 and giving some stability was exceptional, it would n't have happened without them I assure you.
I saw Steedy on Saturday, Geez what we give to still have him in a Rams jumper, that would be priceless. I reckon things went slightly "pear shaped" after that period and we know the reason behind that. As I said, that's in the past, your opinion is taken on board, we hopefully can play well in the finals and next year we do it all again. Everything is a learning process, we try each year to get better at what we do, sometimes it works, other times it doesn't

acutally mavrick, both those rumours have a bit to it i think. i am hearing more and more through my contacts that mead will be at port next year. seems as though they're looking for the quick death rather than the slow painful one. and wouldn't be suprised if ginever goes to gaza.
but then again, the districts/maggies love affair could net pearce the job, considering he's done a great job with districts this year. only a couple more weeks til we find out....

I can say one thing theirs alot of people down Largs way eating their words regarding Ricky's performance this year.
Ricky must appreciate the return of veteran Alf Steed to the side, that was the other reason for their turnaround in form.

The lads battled very hard and gave there all on Saturday just couldnt come back from 8 goals down..... Showed good fighting spirit and are looking forward to this weekends challenge and road trip

Also best of luck to Adam Kulow who in playing his first A grade game sustained a compound fracture of the lower leg..... terrible to see and wish him the best of luck in his recovery! Good that the lads dug deep and did a $$ collection for him after the game as he wont be able to work for 3 months
