Can work both ways TBS
A player will be more inclined to put in over pre-season so they are at peak fitness by R1 and therefore play their best footy straight away and inturn earn more money
You can still get a clearance after R5
Last yr it was up until R11 IIRC

I know you can still get a clearance, but usually clubs will have spent most of their money by then and would be cautious of players leaving other clubs because they thought they weren't getting paid enough.

It severely limits your options.

was talking to one of the lads from PAOC today (one of the players) and he reckons there have been as many outs as there have been ins, so i would think they will still be around the same mark (hopefully a spot or 2 higher in the end) as last year. although he did also say that there is a new bloke on the track this week form country vuctooooria who will be putting on the boots who is a serious hard nut so hopefully he can lead by exaple and get some of the other lads to toughen up becuase god knows some of them need it!

Is it true that some of your players will be paid based on their performance in the first 5 rounds?
If so I think its a brilliant idea

that is a great idea and I would say alot more teams will take that approach
who judges them on there performance though?
the coach or is it the president who pays him??
if so president might makr him hard so they dont have to pay as much?!

When i played down in the MSEFL (some 10-11 yrs ago now) the Club i was at Paid every player in the Senior Side that week & it was based on the Performance of the Team.

Base match payments were $50 per win & $20 per loss which was paid out at every Home Game after Presentations which keeps people at the Club as we used to spend it back over the bar.
IT'S US AGAINST THEM!!!

Round 1 at Coopers Stadium (Norwood Oval)
Mark Ricciuto to play for Reds at Coopers Stadium Rd 1

The PAOCFC committee can now confirm that round 1 will be at Coopers Stadium (Norwood Oval) in a game we hope to be against CBCOC. We will get confirmation from the league in the first week of March on this. As some of you may have heard of 5AA radio the other night, Mark Ricciuto will pull on the boots for the Reds that night. It will be a fantastic opportunity for our young group of players to play with one of the champions of the game and all are extremely excited by the opportunity.

The game will be a twilight game kicking off at 5pm and there will be drinks at the Alma following the game.

We encourage all supporters to bring their families down to Coopers Stadium on the night as the event is likely to attract many old reds and will be a great opportunity for people to catch up as the Reds take on CBC. The Roo will be standing well known CBCOC star "Dolphin Express" all night and has orders to bring him down to size.

Date: Saturday 4th April 2009

Not much of a challenge for him there.

Looking forward to it (if SAAFL permits). Doubt very much that I would get the job on Ricciuto.

This has the potential to draw a significant attendance for both sides and I think it is great for Div 4 footy.

Actually we have both been stung by the wording because it can be read either way.

They said last night that it all had to be confirmed - we are waiting like everyone else

Trust me, we dont get any favours from The Barton

Any further info on how many games Roo will play for PAOC? My understanding was that you were hoping for 4-5 as that is what he has done with teams in the past year or so. Im sure many players in the league would love to test themselves against someone of his calibre

Ash honestly. I am sure if any suburban club had put in a similar request with similar situations it would be delt with in the same manner. The publicity will be great for the whole league! The SAAFL have a lot to gain by getting free (positive) media coverage and having a couple of thousand people to a rd 1 game. They would be fools not to try and make this work!

I really hope it is D Jarmen V The Roo
