Sounds a bit like their present day Josh Richardson, he's almost up to that number Jimmy, but I reckon I know who you're talking about.

regarding meady, he has resigned as coach of gaza. says that there's nothing more he can do with gaza than he already has done. i guess even he could see the writing on the wall, as i can tell you in speaking to some old friends, he would not have been given the job for next year anyway. doubt he'll get the port role too.

Meady is a great leader, coach and mentor. Wish him all the best in whatever he does next year. Gaza two games from relegation, lost 8 games by 4 goals or less, Pivotal time for the club and next year will be very interesting. Such an even competition this year, fantastic to see. Rostrevor and Modbury very unlucky and hopefully can rebound quickly. Good luck to all teams in the finals, my pick Henley over goodwood by 5. Yep, I am another fool that thinks Goowood can be beaten in September and will probably eat humble pie.

Great to to see you at the game BOP and good luck to you and your brother next week. My money is on you guys to win the flag too...

Macca, not sure your sentiments are shared by too many within the Gaza club re Darren Mead by what I've been told from reasonably "high up".

Very dissapointing to get relegated but the 43 players who represented the Modbury A grade this season did a wonderful job. The committee, Sporting Club and supporters couldnt have asked for more. We now know what to expect in Div 1 and the lads will be working hard to get back there in 2011.....

Good luck to the teams in finals

Well said Footy Smart, we didnt help ourselves by losing twice to the side that would eventually overtake us in the last round. . Heard an interesting statistic that 6 wins would have kept you in Div 1 for the last 6 or so years, great time to break that trend guys! thanks a bunch ;)

Good luck to all the sides in the finals and to Modbury's B grade, no easy task from 5th but they have beaten all sides in the finals bar Gullies. Could make a decent run at it!

Those people high up ace are well known as far as slagging their own coaches.

i'd like to 2nd the sentiments in which macca21 holds toward meady. no matter what ppl outside of the playing group believe or are told to believe from whatever sources meady was and is highly respected by the majority of the playing group. at the end of the day a player isn't going to agree with everything a coach says or all of his opinions and there'l generally always be a little bit of conflict (myself included). meady is a very selfless person and has done so much in the last 3 years to look out for the future of our footy club, we thank him deeply for this and wish him the very best in his future endeavours whatever they may be!

It appears there are several "trains of thought" with this one.

I can assure you that the majority of players and board members have nothing but respect and admiration for a man that gave his all to the Gaza Football club over the last three years. As for any club that moves from the top of the table to a middle of the table also rand, and we have to face that is where we sit atm, there will be grumblings from some supporters and people involved in the club. That is expectation, and without this only the status quo remains. We need a change, because for whatever reason despite Meady's every effort, we are not the team we wont and expect to be. You can't get blood out of a stone, the last couple of years perhaps the playing groups commitment has fallen short of what is required to be where we want to as a club at times, myself included! Anyway good luck for your clash next week, should be a beauty, and look forward to playing against your mob next year, always great contests and think you now have the wood on us.
