Heard up at the Settlers on the weekend that Ingle Farm have knocked back clearances for 4 players as unfinancial. As i know for a fact that all A grade players were sponsered last year and not required to pay subs personally how can you now put them down as unfinancial because they want a clearance As i was a player sponser last year i find this unaccetable and won't be putting any more money in if i don't know where it's going. Pooraka, Modbury and Hectorville, i wouldn't be paying any money out until you look into it

Bulldogs, i for one sponsored 2 players, another good club person sponsored 4, a committee member organised at least 12( through local bussinesses and supporters), the coach and his brother would have sponsored a couple. I know a list of A GRADE players was given to the committee by the coach for these sponsorships to go to. This is the sort of thing that happens when your players aren't on the big bucks the rest of you clubs are. All i want to know is if these players are unfinancial then where did our money go. Anyway since i wrote my original comment a week ago, a couple of phone calls have happened i believe and 2 young players have been cleared to Pooraka as financial. I rest my case. As stated previously "DTA" (Don't Trust Anyone) with any wheeling and dealing, special agreements, hand shakes, sign up specials, etc players should always unfortunately think the worst case scenario and cover their backsides and demand a receipt, club membership card, financial statement or some form of documented proof of being a current financial member.
Have been caught and burned also, with one club stating in their minutes at the AGM that all players financial and then altering the minutes when a copy was requested to submit as evidence.
So hopefully a valuable lesson learned by the players for future reference.

So these two guys were sponsored last year, but this year have walked out on their club to play one division higher. Where is the loyalty. Sounds like poor form all round to me.

To play a better standard is the story, 1 grade higher , if they really wanted to test themselves surely a move to a div 1 club (several in the area) would have been the better option

Completely agree with demonseye. Not only do you get the opportunity, but you prove yourself worthy of it and you achieve something in the process, forging closer friendships rather than weakening them.

Mate, things have gone pretty well for us... the challenge of a higher division has re-envigorated guys where coming back for another pre-season to play the same division had become a grind. Boys are all enthusiastic and have had a good pre-season.

Elizabeth at their home deck will be a good hard game for us and may provide a quick reality check, as you may know, we haven't played any trials (coach's preference), so we'll have to try and settle quickly.

Can't wait.

Apparently not cleared as yet, but will start in B's if SPOS approve it today.
