Trainers hat off:

Terrible news mate, i know it's a big part of your life but at least you can still contribute in other ways (and I don't mean over the bar  )

trainers hat on:

It is something you can contemplate if you keep screwing up your knee and then doing nothing about it and/or being a hero and playing when you shouldn't be.

BLASPHEMY!

Your just friggin crazy mate!!!

I always thought footy was the be all and end all of life until I started getting injuries too often, I tore my hammy big time a couple of times, I couldn't get in and out of my car, I couldn't take a dump for a few days and it was costing me too much time off work.
One of my calf muscles completely disinegrated which now has a big ditch in it, my ankles are shot, as much as I'd love to have a kick again, I know what the outcome could be.

When I wrecked my leg earlier in the season and was rolling around the grass in agony, one of my teammates, who is my age and has kids, told me his first thought was "why the **** am I still playing footy?"

Yes it must be so hard to play at your age lol

Knee replacement :(

Hence not being able to train at all and blowing out. (Although that picture makes it look at lot worse as I'm bending over) I'm 106kgs at 186cm (Sportsmed measurements yesterday) and haven't been able to do any training or running at all to be honest I know now why.

I don't mind admitting I was absolutely distraught when I got the news yesterday so much so I really had trouble sleeping last night. at 36 a knee replacement just isn't something you contemplate. Then to be told you can only get 2 in your life time and the expected life span of a replacement is 10-12 years my thought process immediately went so ok so what happens when I'm mid/late 50's and have had my 2 replacements?

I have 2 kids under 3 years old WTF can I do with them growing up? I'm devastated at the minute....

Maybe Karma for giving everyone shit on here.

Sorry to hear mate, catch up for that beer soon. If you can't go to London I'll go for ya!

Haha, you won't have to worry about that this week. It will be Rhett's problem

Exactly, my last game I had a finger that took ages to get back in, it looked similar to the one pictured, my previous game 2 years prior I dislocated my elbow, the comeback was a silly idea.

Wood from IF an interesting selection.. Cotter had 10 shots at goal, mind you only converted half of them.. Woods most consistent contribution was standing the mark ;)

Glouftsis was standing Cotter to begin I believe, Wood was moved to him after he kicked 4 goals early?

Backmen are the hardest players to select in these sides because they get the least recognition

On this.. what would his conversion rate be this year? Both times I've watched him he's hardly seemed to miss (obviously I didn't see the shots he missed on the weekend! )

He can kick all he likes, but my understanding is he's still not the best full forward in the family ;)
