Sorry to shatter your dreams but this is from the folks at HQ- "Even though the good folk from Para Hills are higher ranked than Lockleys in the C grade and Ingle Farm higher than Lockleys in the B grade, they will change in the AWAY rooms leaving all three Lockleys teams in the HOME rooms. However. Lockleys B & C Grades will wear white shorts."

It'll be interesting to see if the bye in Rd 18 works in Fitzroy's favour - a week off to get the bodies right and prepare for finals, plus possibly get a couple back.

Lost by 4 points last time they played TOS and 13pts in Rd 2, indicates they match up fairly well against them.

I would send Darren Francis to Alex Cotter.

both games off the bye this year we certainly didnt play at 100%..it does affect the group by about 5-10% i believe but its all relative..francis might not be tall enough for cotter..TOS could be a bit better all over the ground whilst i think fitzroy need their important players to play very well..nelson, papzoglov, francis, asfaha, newberry, wheadon etc..home ground should work in the lions favour as well..will be a very tight game with the loser to be eliminated..

If Francis cant contain Cotter then he would be best used at CHF - may as well fight fire with fire and back your side in to win the midfield battle.

Harding will be a key mover for Fitzroy as well I imagine.

yeah i forgot harding..agree on francis moving if required..on the big ground 12 goals might be enough to win it with some rain about as well..

All I can say is had we been given the option to play last week or have the BYE, I'd take the BYE.. Only due to carrying niggling injuries and then alleviating the chance of picking up more injuries in what was essentially a dead rubber.. Obviously if ladder positions were genuinely up for grabs then its a non issue, but last weeks game really didn't do much for either TOS or Lockleys, as both sides had an eye on this week and just trying to get everyone through with no further injury concerns..

I hope you're wrong on both accounts, unfortunately I can't see the Lions getting up though, Lockleys will play Smithfield next week for a direct route to the GF

I'm going for Fitzroy only because of former Kilburn lad Francis, and also looking at results over the season it seems to me like TOS are a one man team

A 1 man team in front of goals, cant argue with that, Cotter has been huge this year, but every full forward knows it takes a midfield to get it to him, otherwise life is fairly difficult for them.. It was speculated early in the year that if you stop Cotter you stop TOS, he responded with 8 against Fitzroy..

One man forward lines rarely succeed in the pressure cooker of finals football
