I can say there was one decision that changed a bit of the play in the 3rd quarter but really wuldnt have changd the outcome.
The crowd and in particular a select few were an utter joke. I remember them being pretty bad a few years ago but christ not this bad.
It was a great physical game a very good game until the last 1/4. Para Hills resorte to filthy disgraceful acts of total crap. What they dished up you would think you were playing div 7R. I dont care about the physical part of the game but when you are struck with a flying elbow to the face 20 metres behind play you start to wonder how these bastards are allowed to play. It was me that wasstruck by there number 45. The umpires didnt see it but he was sent off for it. His explanation when i was getting helped was " if he kicked the goal i wouldnt have done it". The bloke should have got a bullet. Even the captain i thik came over and helped me and asked if i was alright. I heard the coach gave him a deserved spray for doing it. It was the lowest most disgraceful act if have had done or seen for a long time. Not only that bloke but a few others resorted to those tactics. Why would you bother when you are in front with 5 mins to go. The supporters looked more at home just lik if they were sitting down out the front of the Wellcania hotel drinking and sniffing glue than where they were today. As I said earlier and many blkes that are on here have said aswell. They are nothing but filth and should be recognised for nothing less.

When I started to read this post, as a life member, I was appalled at what seems to be happening at Para Hills. Then I realised who "Marbles" is and had a good laugh. From what I saw yesterday you need to go and get yourself a can of toughen the f**k up.

you should be careful what you say here, the rabble that you guys had in the north eastern pocket of the ground was pure filth, the way they berated players all day*, except fo the last 15 minutes when they shut up again i guess like most weeks as they are just wanting the final siren to go and put them out of another days misery, good luck in div 4 next season
*but hey every club has them

Marbles does not represent the views and thoughts of the Portland football club. Wait for Felch to comment.

From what I've heard, the Para Hills player was asked to whack you Marbles, by your own team mates.

They, like everybody else here, think you are a wanker.

Marbles seems you didnt have a good day Saturday let me answer some of your statements: as to the B grade umpire having no idea of footy i would say he is close to one of the most experienced b grade umpires going around he umpired SANFL for 10 years and is also a level 4 umpire seeing as the umpires now only go to level 3 tells me he does know a bit about the game.
As for the crowd they were far better than your lot in the far end pocket who as stated before were very abusive towards our players but we as a football club can accept and more importantly can brush it off as a part of opposition barracking.
And to your flying elbow incident you yourself state you were helped by our captain and the player was dragged and was given a serve by our coach tells me and surely everyone else reading this that we dont condone that action and he was dealt with on the spot by the coach.

The personal attack on our supporters saying they looked more at home sniffing glue at wellcania hotel (isnt it willcania) was outragous in the most degrading way and i will not fire back on that one as that would be coming down to your level and i never want to do that but i will say for a bunch of glue sniffers we had quite a few Portland players including A grade coach and trainers stay back for a few beers even stayed to watch our presentation and to Portland we say well done boys on sticking around and having a few beers on us and a friendly after match chat.To you marbles i think you had a hard day and yes the elbow incident was not in the spirit of the game but your comments on here were abusive and degrading to our club and our supporters in the most deplorable manner and you have not done yourself any favours for the future on or off the field.

In closing i feel i am correct in saying we at para hills do not consider this vulgar attack anything to do with Portland F.C. and your players and officials are always welcome in our clubroom for a after match beer.

Sheesh !!! Marbles is a touch over the top i reckon, cut him some slack though, he did cop a very cheap shot (elbow) from a PH bloke in the magoos. I know the PH coach was not very happy with the incident, and dragged the bloke immediately. It was a gutless act, but more than happy with the reaction by the PH B grade coach. He obviously realises what the real meaning of tough is. Only ugly incident (other than us losing :( ) though on an interesting day.

I dont think our mob on the far side were too bad by the way. They planted themselves far enough away from everyone to not be a nuisance, and wouldn't have heckled opposition players any more or less than the PH supporters in front of the clubrooms. All good i say, from both parties.

Very funny game of footy, with PH starting fantastic (think score was 6 to 1). We were thinking 'Here we go again' but luckily we got on top in the midfield in the second quarter but just couldn't put score in the board. Third term we completely dominated, and got ourselves in front by 3/4 time. I would have to say our effort in the third quarter was probably as dominate display i have seen by us out of the centre square. PH just couldn't win a ball. We kicked the first goal of the last, to be up by 8 points, but it was one way traffic from there. PH took back control in the middle, and we had no answers to their big forward targets (luckily Hanson didn't play!!!). We didnt really have a stand out forward all day, and it told in the end. Game blew out late, and scoreboard probably didn't reflect how tough and even the contest was for most of the game.

Had a beer and chat with a few of the PH lads afterwards, and Pag was right, you blokes are good lads !!! Our A grade coach even hung around for your presos i hear - ours were held up waiting for him to get back to Portland !!!

By the way FC, cut Thachy some slack - his caps lock button is stuck on his keyboard, so he can only type in capitals...so he told me anyway...

There's been plenty of injuries mate, but every club has them so it's not really an excuse.

We did lose Tume (Canberra), Atkinson (Gaza), Schutt (Virginia), Batten (Pulteney), Capogreco (Gepps Cross), Franchensinis (Hope Valley) and Margaritis (QLD) out of our best 18 over the summer, with three of them being key positions so it's hard to replace. The boys that are around are working hard and still trying to enjoy their footy, just not getting the results at the moment.

Game yesterday was pretty disappointing, watching from the sidelines you could see the effort was there for the first three quarters, dropped off a bit in the last quarter and it blew the margin out. It's nice to the see the Adelaide City Council taking care of the ground though, had 2 rolled ankles blow up to the size of balloons thanks to the 'flat' surface down there...

must agree with you felch, thought our supporters in the far pocket were fine, loud and abusive but that is exactly how the para hills supporters are!!
I think it may have been worse since #21 decided to retaliate to what was said so a few of the guys went to town on him!!
was a good game of football, portland definately missing someone up forward to kick to, while para hills had flynn and solley, flynn was almost unbeatable in the air, lucky he didnt kick to straight! solley popped up in last quarter aswell!
hung round for a beer with some of the lads, only thing I was thinking while in ya club rooms was where does everyone fit?? 3 teams plus family and friends would have no chance of fitting in there!!

Been having discussions with the salisbury council since 1999 regarding clubrooms, lighting and car parking. While the council agree that the facilities are dated and in desperate need of upgrading still nothing has been done. We were promised by then mayor Tony Zappia that we were top of the list to have our facilities upgraded and even promised $110,000.00 towards lighting. We as a club then got onto his band wagon for his push towards federal politics and supported him through our club. Guess what, he got in and we havent seen the money yet. It always seems to be the case of its not what you know but who you know. I could write a book on what has gone on between our club and the council

The new Salisbury tennis club should be fantastic, from what I've been led to believe, and I stand to be corrected, approximately 1 million dollars from council for a club that has well under 100 members but one of them is the daughter of someone "in the know". You do the maths.

Para Hills Football Club 3 senior teams, 9 junior teams, Auskick, approximately 300 playing members, 50 social members, over 500 parents and relatives involved each week and that is without supporters, friends, wives, girlfriends so yes to answer your question we CANT fit everyone in. Thats my bitch for the week.

unfortunatly i didnt see the marbles incident but just from what i have seen on here, it sounds like it was handled pretty well by para hills, PH in my oppinion are the best side we have played, hard, drilled, skilled and have many opptions going forward.
supporters for both sides were fine i thought, both loud and almost intimidating but thats exactly what you wont (obviously with out crossing the line which correct me if im wrong but didnt think happened). our supporters did get stuick in to No 21 pretty heavily who i understand is a pretty wwell looked after player for PH ;) and i think the supporters did a great job of getting in his head after the 1st quarter were he was very influencial, when he started to argue back with them you could almost say he lost the plot and didnt have an impact on the game after that.

One lil bitch about the club is i think maybe there should be a fence or something between the clubrooms and oval, there was one stage i was tackled over the line near the clubrooms and the banter i copped felt like they were actually on top of me and although it didnt, one day things could spill out of control in that area.

by the way yet again a big thank you to para hills for putting on some beers after the game, i know a few clubs do it and i think its fantastic, dont think our club is one of those but i think its something you should get oon to felch

Its hard to recieve any incentives if i dont get in the best players..
And its hard to get in the best players if you only play 2 quarters.. (2 bloody good ones mind you :D )

Also: I reckon Portland are a good enough side not to get relegated as they continue to push the top sides and have lost a few games by the smallest of margins but after seeing the scotch result from the weekend, i reckon its gonna be tough to catch up 2 games and perhaps percentage come seasons end..

hopefully with the return of lipson, gein, thornton and bament in the coming weeks we should be able to not only trouble sides but beat them on the stretch home.
