how would violence solve anything towards the person if anyone is dumb enough to start a fight over words im sure the league will hand the club a decent fine and hopefully the people would be arrested

its smarter to walk away

I understand volunteers are hard to find but to continually let a bloke be any sort of an umpire who is a known cheat has to come back as TOS being the blame ! you cant sit there and defend this guy anyone who has played coached or watched a game with this bloke umpiring would say the same thing ! its the clubs responsibility to not let this person be involved and no one elses!

It's not just some smart words - he constantly baits and taunts opposition supporters - earlier in the year he awarded a contentious goal to TOS late in the last, then proceeded to laugh and stick the finger up and abuse the ingle farm supporters

all good to say walk away, but a long day on the drink and season on the line this bloke will piss off the wrong supporter one day..

maybe record the game and send in the footage its easy to talk about it on the internet its smarter to record it or even request an Offical come to the ground

we had one at our game a few weeks back

Forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't the same bloke almost get his head ripped off in a finals altercation a couple years back? I think it was The good man Carey that broke the story on the forums if my memory serves me correct.

Personally seen karma bite him on the arse twice, still brings a little chuckle every time it's bought up in conversation.

He played HFF in the 1st half and was hard to stop until I sent a bloke onto him who shut him down before hurting his knee, then after half time went into the guts and I just couldn't find anyone suitable to match up with him, and he ran wild - ended up going with a 16yo kid in the last who took a couple of crucial contested marks but that was bit fortunate, he was unstoppable.

If he's been playing B grade like that all year, may well be a smokey for the D6R medal

Are you kidding champ?! Do you even football.....
Dom Ascoli is an undisciplined, umpire arguer, after the play sniper, as fast as a hippo, below average skilled football player.
If he was actually any good he would be playing A grade.

Well he was good yesterday and very influential towards his teams cause - that's what I'm judging him on

Sounds to me like a personal dislike for the bloke rather than footy ability

Correct. If the cops didn't rock up when they did that day he was about to be in a fair bit of trouble.

It's a Shame as TOS have always been a very good opposition club. They really need to act on this peanut before they give themselves a real bad name. Continually turning a blind eye won't make the issue go away.

Fair point tho if he was that good why is he playing B grade?

Yeh im not defending him, but hes not on his own. Hell ive been called a 'f*ckhead' by a field umpire this year who was walking through the centre square as I was coaching from the sidelines.. Its a shame that good volunteers dont grow on trees because I reckon a few clubs could probably pick from said tree.. But agreed its something that needs to be addressed and hopefully no further issues this week

The reason why he sticks out HT is because he is consistent with his behaviour.

Some people are quality B graders but not capable of making the step up to A grade, perhaps he's one of them

Finals Week 2:
A Grade
Smithfield (1st) v Lockleys (2nd) - Smithfield Oval 14:15
West Croydon (3rd) v Trinity OS (4th) - Fawk Reserve 14:15 (?)

B Grade
Smithfield (1st) v Trinity OS (3rd) - Smithfield Oval 12:15
Brahma Loge (2nd) v Ingle Farm (4th) - Fawk Reserve 12:15 (?)

The big logistical nightmare for this week will be for Trinity who will find themselves well apart for A and B grade, difficult position.. I'm guessing start times for those games will be adjusted (12:00 & 2:30?) to allow time for travel from one ground to the other.

Had TOS lost to Brahma Sat in the reserves, would've been much simpler and had both A/B grade at West Croydon ;)

Smitty by 8 goals, West Croydon by 11 points

Smitty by 23 points and Lodge by 52 points

That is all.

Smithfield v Lockleys should be a ripping contest Saturday - it'll be interesting to see how much the weekends game took out of Lockleys and if they can back it up..
