Mitch was wrapt and all the guys held ther heads high after one of the best overall performances by this a-grade outfit in the last few years.

Very excited to see how we cope with Hallet Cove this week. Similar standard to Modbury or Better?

Hallet Cove will stich ya up my friend!!

Your probably right but if we can play as well as we did against modbury we will be extremley happy with the result. Even if it may be a loss. My question was really asking how they rate compared to other div1 & 2 sides.

Six back in this week as well. Three from Norwood (18's and reserves) and a couple of premiership players from last year. Even if we get belted im still keen to see how we fare.

BB the other leagues dont compare to Div 1 teams. These leagues pay 2 or 3 quality  players and the rest drop away....

GG are a very good team and should run through div 4 easily...... there is minimal if any difference between div 5 and 4 and they are a much stronger team than last season.

That is not correct, there is a big difference, hence when a team goes down from Div 4 they normally are back within a year or 2. Would like to know what you are basing your statement on??

based on 'ignorance'.................as there is just as big a gap between Div 4 and 5 as any division.

Well our team was very similar to GG's and we went from div 4-2 in 2 years........ div 3 - 2 is a notable gap yes but 5-4 with their recruits and team will be no problems IMO.

I'm not saying GG won't be a very good team in Div 4..........I'm sure they will be. I'm just saying the gap between Div 4 and 5 is just like any other division.

I dont think it would be as big as say a 3-2 or a 2-1
especially with the players that GG boast they could mix it with some of the higher divisoned sides for sure!

Thats my point exactly.... much bigger jump once you get to div 3-2-1 the teams, clubs and players are more professional

I cant say that any of the GG boys are getting on here sprouting that we will run thru Div 4.... yes we are confident in the work we have done and the personnel we have, but we are a little bit more realistic than that and know the work is ahead of us. But if others want to try and predict our season and give us wraps then go ahead and feel free because we take them as a compliment rather than a burden. ;)
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Fair point choccies, I realise a fair bit of the stuff written on here is fairly far fetched, however there a lot of GG boys on here and alot of talk about GG. With that and the fact that according to the poll (which maybe bullshit also) it has marked GG as the flag favourites in Div 4 and that means everyone will be out to beat you guys! Everyone likes knocking off the favourites! ;)

Exactly... alot written on here is fiction and the polls are as useless as a one-legged man in an ass kicking competition.... it's purely weight of club numbers that forces votes to look like they do. But we will be out to beat everyone as everyone will be out to beat us !! We dont write anyone off and it would be fair to say we wouldn't know alot about most of the teams so to compare is a waste of time.... we do get a fair bit of 'airplay' on here, but that may just represent false respect and the perception that we will be good rather than us earning that respect... But, let the games begin and let the banter flow !! ;)
