Full credit to Hope Valley yesterday, gave us a stern hit out that we needed. Game played in good spirits, very competitive with no fights or anything like that. C5 will be a very tough comp if yesterday is anything to go by, should be a great year. Plympton this week for us, 26 goal win says they will be another tough one.

Also, all at Flinders Park wish the poor bloke who got seriously injured halfway into the last qtr all the best. One of the ugliest injuries I have ever seen live, I hope he recovers well as I believe it was his first game of footy for a while, if ever. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Wel be right mate. 6 guys that will come back in to As n Bs next week will drop off our bottom 6, who were ordinary. We have some quality very experienced players, we will gel and then look out. Few of our younger guys got out of position and didnt even attempt to contest the footy! Made us look soft in some parts. I personally hated seeing that. We will pump Havens mate, ill take care of that personally ;)

Cheers for that, was a nasty injury. Broke both bones in his forearm I believe and was having surgery today to insert a metal plate. Was the lads first game of football and he was so excited before the game. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.
Hopefully next time Scottys boys meet you he wont lose half his side to injury and the higher grades!

Its a tough gig for the c/d grade coaches as sides change every week. In saying that Flinders park were far from having our best side on the paddock. We had about 8-10 out as well so it will be a very interesting year!!!! Good luck to that fella with his recovery, not a good start to his footy. Best wishes!!!

No probs Big T, will pass that on at training. At the end of it all it is only a game and nobody likes seeing a fella hurt like that.

A good game played in good spirits. If Flinders Park aren't top come Round 9, I'd be surprised. Very good side.

The young fella with the broken arm will make a full recovery, thanks to all the FP boys who wished him all the best. The only rhing I'll say on this matter is that it was disappointing that we had to wait 3-4 minutes for the stretcher to come out. They should have been out on the ground before the game started. And the idiots in the crowd who said he should just walk off should have a good look at themselves. The bloke was in some serious pain and shock had set in and those comments were unwarranted.

That's all I'll say about that. Flinders Park were awesome and a good bunch of blokes. I look forward to seeing how they go against plympton.

Cheers for the beer The Cows, see you at Hope Valley next time we meet.

We start with a 10 goal loss but 25 players - so The Lodge are under way for the first time in 16 years with a C Grade

Gotta say fun was had by all and really enjoyed playing on park 10 quality surface

Well done to the uni lads just out classed us with the positive being we out scored them in the last quarter and the 10 or so lads that havent played before we will be better for the run

Special mention to Nick "Rowdy" James on kicking his first club goal in his 61st game

Also a big thank you to Uni's St John's trainer in helping our trainer with a lad who copped one in the temple early in the game

Its good too hear that the injured fella from Saturday is recovering well, was truly horrific too see it happen.

We, as a club, should and will take blame for the stretcher taking time too get out, we made the rookie mistake of not having it by the bench, which had it been any other round than round 1, it probably wouldve been. We all made comment on the field that it was poor and apologised, but coupled with the fact our trainers were in strapping the C grade too, it was an unfortunate set of events that i hope is never repeated. Im not making excuses, it was poor, and we take full responsibility for that.

Also, we dont condone what was said by a select few people in the crowd, again, as players i hope we showed the due respect for the poor blokes condition, which we genuinely were concerned for, even at presentations that night we made mention of it in the wrap up of the game, and wished him all the best.

Hope Valley, i genuinely believe will play finals, because if all sides play like the way they did, C5 is a very strong comp. Probably a big call not having seen anyone else, but I think they will feature well this season. Plus, one of the better bunch of blokes ive played against, so i dont mind seeing good blokes be rewarded with finals footy!

Looking forward too Plympton now, havent heard much about them on here, but they must be a strong side to start with a 26 goal win?

It must be a Flinders Park thing - all these badly broken arms.

I remember a young Nick Patfull of PNU breaking his humerus bone right through the middle just before half time of a match played there in 2006, in the far pocket no less :( I don't think he's played since.

I think your ruckman fell on him - he was a big lad too and Nick was/is a stringbean
