So North Pines survives - does this mean the death knell for Ovingham?

That'll buy them another year.

Does that mean half way through the season we will have a "Save North Pines" fundraiser too?

can they still fill 2 sides though or will they go to the C grade comp?

With less than 9 guys attending each pre-season session you would think they would have to drop to a C Grade comp

c'mon mighty, it's not hard to count when you are standing over with us during drills :)

there were 14 plus about 4 others including the bloke running the show now, aaron cooke i think his name is.

they'll have a team in 2010 i reckon from what we saw at their 1st trng session last night.

they've been great to us during pre season (due to the debacle that is our ground) letting us use their ground and even allowing our guys to use 2/3 of it last night while they were trying to train as well.

Thanks for the clear up there.
I have been driving past Ovingham for the past couple of weeks and seen great numbers running around out there. This was obviously Blacks having a dob.

Is sharing ovals during preseason a normal occurance for most clubs?
I understand cricket pitches can be a b**ch to work around.

the cricket pitch at our ground isn't the problem, it is the only part that is not bone dry.
we used ovingham last year as well. they've been good to us for three years now.

The beauty about having a dob there is that if you go with a mate, you can both have shots at goals each kick.

True.

But I will admit, the Ovingham surface isn't too shabby. Great for running laps but also pretty good on the legs too.

5 players cleared out of the Pines and no newbies. Mawson picking up a few

So who's all coming down to watch the game this Friday night? Going on last year i'd expect there to be a big crowd in attendance.

There will be 2 games with the 1st kicking off at 6.30pm followed by the 2nd at 8.00pm.

What sort of team will you guys be fielding? Close to full strength? Should be a good night, as was last year when we played AV at home on Friday night.
