Calls have already been reduced this year, they wont be reducing them again for your benefit for the sake of a couple of dozen phone calls [/quote]

 The League must have a gun Treasurer to make that happen, wouldn't be happening anywhere else ;)

Sorry, just saw this. YES very keen as per my previous comment. Please anyone in C2 please PM me if you are keen to have a look at the prospects of Triple Headers

Brahma Lodge C grade are also willing to swap games to accomodate the triple headers. So any clubs in C4 who havent been set up for the bye, but are willing to change, please PM me.

But I guess this is what the delegates wanted, they voted it in

You sound confused, you blame the league - and can tell you a lot of thought went into it as was based on performance last year
Then you say it won't benefit a lot of clubs but then admit the clubs voted it in

Embrace the change and if clubs not individuals within clubs don't like it they can change it next year

If we didn't continue to try and improve then we would still have delegates meetings at Tynte Street and be playing finals on neutral grounds

Give it a chance 8)

Based on performance of last year, we finished minor round 10w / 6l, same as Plympton. Just played better football when it counted. Our 6 losses where to North Haven x 2, Plympton x 2, Adel. Lutheran x 1 and Woodville South x 1.

I understand that is now gone because of promotion/relegation. I still stand by my opinion that the C grade sides should have been aligned to the A grade sides as best they can for this year and that selecting divisions based on last year's form wasn't the right way to go about it

I thought the clubs voted it in on the basis that all games would be scheduled as triple headers? Maybe I was misinformed

S Demon, Unley will be keen to switch around home and away games in rounds 1 and 10 to give each club triple headers in both rounds.

That's good news and I'm sure it will happen. Probably could have been put in the draw by the league with just "a couple of dozen phone calls"...

Go to saafl newsletter 46 on 21st December - says in writing by Kylie that they would programme all games at 10.15am that they could, but they have not because all the clubs are now saying ring me, our pm me if you want a triple header, also read same info written bt the ceo.

Sure it seems like there could be some changes made to suit everyone, but as also stated, lets just see how this year pans out and then decide over the summer. Certain things are not ideal with it, but getting a draw up that suits all 66 clubs would be absolutely impossible, even in the best of circumstances. Best take a chill pill on this and work with it in 2012 - see the bad and good points and then fix it again at the end of the season. Certainly, the beltings that were happening last year, were not ideal either and probably a big reason for the change to a new system. As said - work out what is bad and then come back and fix it.

WOW YL. You do actually have something intelligent to add on here ;) Just kidding. After the discussion at our club and about the place. I was advised that we were having triple headers coming out the wazoo. We have ONE (1). Im really disappointed to be honest. Also the change to the sides was not as bad as i thought. Only change being Unley in and Adel Uni out. To be perfectly honest there is so much uncertainty about the new gradings, the way the Div's will work and how the sides will react to the changes on any given Saturday. No comment can really bhe past on the success until the break in the middle. That should give us some indication on how we are travelling in the interim. Until the end of the year not much more can be passed. Until then lets have a crack, have a look at it and then make our judgement. I completley understand some of the frustrations but you never knwo what can happen form here until round 1 and then round 18 and into the finals. I will put it out there and say taht im ratehr annoyed at the triple header scenario for us.

Thanks for your glowing endorsement Satchel old chum. Can be intelligent once or twice a year. Maybe only once - but I am not just a beautiful face and body you know =)) =))

If ya referring to EM...then no, it is not his job. Whether he is on the Executive committee is irrelevant, all it takes is a call to the other C grade coach to organise it. I think I could handle that.

But if ya referring to Azza....then hell no, no-one talks to him at the club so won't go there!!

How has everyone been going with organising changes to the fixture more so organising Triple Headers etc? We have had two (2) extra ones planned and submitted already which is great. Would love to organise more.

I know its verey early but does anyone have a point of view on the new div's this year? Some new teams thathave never played against each other before and so on? What have been the thoughts on going to new clubs and what they have that you havent come to view before. Example, heading out to Golden Grove last year and playing them for the first time. Clubrooms were great. Roomy, clean and very modern. Although i couldnt say the same for the oval but if i remember correctly the new one was being constructed in time for this year?

C4 appears pretty even, Eastern Park the exception. We run into EP, Paynhem, CBCOC in the next 3 weeks, will know more after that.

Well it's been a bit disappointing for us this year. The new div has certainly given a shake up to a lot of sides. Be interesting to see how things turn out with the promotion relegation scenarios. How's everyone else seen the diva as it stands now. We all had our criticisms early and the consensus was to see how it was at the half way point to make a full judgement. For me there are some sides that will enjoy a higher c grade comp than others.

I think Div 8 is a good comp, we are struggling for numbers at the minute which is giving us to chance to have some guys back up and play two games this week. Also the comp is pretty even, only SMOSH are undefeated and look by far the best side we have pushed PAC and beaten Broadies above us, and Salisbury beat UNI so on a given day anyone can push to get into that second GF spot. I think SMOSH will get there, cant see them finishing away from top and cant see them losing 2 finals to not get there at this stage.

Well its the end of the first year fo the New Draft. We siad earlier we couldnt make too many comments until the end. Well thats now. From Div 8 to C grades i think its been positive. We have come up against some really good sides in C2. We did get the commnets when we were winning consecutive games the good old "your coming from a Div 2 club and we are a Div 5 club" comments and so on. That truly had no bareing on the year to be honest. Unley lower div than our club. Go straight into GF in C2. Athelstone. Div 7 last year and now in C2, now playing off for a spot in the GF (beating my lads which hurts). Those sorts of things will come up but again i do believe it will take a couple years for the grades to truly even out after promotion and relegation. I'm happy with our result this year a part from not being able to go the extra step and get into the GF. Whats everyone elses thoughts.

Div 8 was really good i thought, even if we didnt win enough games. I think Div 8R may need to be looked at, way too many forfeits, i think our D grade only played like once in the last month and a couple of the late rounds only had one game as the other were forfeits. Dont know what can be done to fix it.

I totally agree Beef. Too many forfeits. How about clubs paying a back ended bond (nothing up front) which they must cough up if they forfeit. I know that there is already something like this in place but if you enter a team into the comp you should be able to fulfill your obligations for the entire season. It ruins the season for the opposition clubs.
