Houghton boys did you have any probs with the Athelstone runner spending more time on the field than some players just clogging up holes and taking up space?

Houghton v Henley this week shapes up to be another cracking game...I know it's early but I think Houghton may cause an upset here especially on their home deck.

Can't say I noticed him much, but maybe the other lads who spent more time up forward may have. It hasn't come up in discussion, but to be honest, we are still trying to clarify what exactly constitutes a mark for it to be paid

And yes, Henley this week presents a great challenge and chance to redeem ourselves. And now that I know that Rexy wants me to play like Gary Ablett, I have something to personally achieve

Hard to say what happened at Shark Park. We had several changes from previous weeks which did not help plus 3 B graders backed up and play in the A grade. We missed our playing coach who could not play due to his wife having bubs during the week. So congrats to Mal and the family. We also had a few other key players out with injury. Henley are a very good side and can not take anything away from them for there win. The club had a life member pass away also during the week so the boys where dissappointed not to be able to pull of the win for "Pops". But we did not stop trying and with the outs we had rotation was at a minimal with the players we had. Big Favotti as you put it was well held but was not helped by the forward delivery. We will be hoping to get everybody back for Ovies this week and see if we can avenge our loss to them earlier in the season. Should be a cracking game.

I would like to say goodluck to the Saints for the rest of the year, as I am on the move
again. I doubt they will miss me much on the field.
Also hope Cooke and the Ovies keep their heads up and get a win soon. Cheers.
Riddler hope you enjoyed my last game :)

What's the perpetual trophy? Is this an official thing or just an unnofficial recognition of rivalry?

more of a rivalry thing that has developed. Chris Newman and Kym Norris have known each other for years and now it is something to keep up that rivalry. it's an aggregate thing so we'll keep it if we win or if we lose by less than 6pts...

this week should be a cracker!!!

Yes Ambo and NG this week should be a cracker. Will make sure I introduce myself Ambo after the A grade and have an Ale afterwards. Unfortunately I will not be able to stick around too long after the game due to prior commitments.
I know after the game earlier in the year that the boys have been looking forward to the re-match.
Could go a long way to deciding who gets the wooden spoon this year which I am sure is one thing neither club wants to lay claim to.
