PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CROWS LEGENDS TO BATTLE AT THE PARADE ON SATURDAY 4 APRIL FROM 6PM
JOINT RELEASE FROM PAC OLD COLLEGIANS FOOTBALL CLUB INC AND CBC OLD COLLEGIANS FOOTBALL CLUB INC
31 MARCH 2009 In what will be an amazing spectacle, Mark Ricciuto is set to line up for PAC Old Collegians Football Club ("The Reds") this Saturday night at Norwood Oval against his co-premiership player and AFL Legend Darren Jarman who is the newly appointed senior coach of CBC Old Collegians Football Club ("The Dolphins"). It is also rumoured that another Adelaide Football Club Legend, and all time highest goal scorer for the Crows, Tony Modra will also be lining up for the Reds. PAC Old Collegians club President Michael Siciliano said "this will not only be a great match for our normal supporters but will attract many Crows fans and football fans generally. The game will be a truly amazing experience which is unlikely to ever be repeated"
CBC Old Collegians Football Club and the PAC Old Collegians Football Club have had a great rivalry in recent years and this year they will be playing for the "Trims/Queens Arms Hotel Shield" along with bragging rights until the next time they meet in Round 10 on 20 June at Thebarton Oval for the re-match.
CBC Old Collegians club President, Garry Winter said "Darren is extremely keen to pull the boots on for the season opener against PAC and he hasn't lost any of the Jarman magic that he carried with him throughout his illustrious career. However, team selections have been difficult already and Darren is very wary about a player missing out on selection for his inclusion." AFL Champion, Darren Jarman stated "we have been training very hard in the pre-season and the Dolphins are primed not only for the season opener but also for the season ahead." When quizzed about the possibility of him playing and even matching up against Ricciuto he said "if I do pull on the boots, Roo better watch out because I will be coming to get him! I know all his tricks because I taught him everything he knows. If Mods comes out to play, I expect it will end up being a very high scoring match". Brownlow medalist Ricciuto stated in response "I am looking forward to the game and getting back to grass roots footy. PAC are sponsored by the Alma Hotel this year and it is good to support those who support us. If Fud plays he'd better watch out and there also should be an ambulance waiting for him with defibrillators nearby."
