I hope you are on the money marbles. I remember very clearly in round 18 last year when the crabs copped a belting at the den. Every one of their lads came in for a frothie and our committee at MP supplied a few jugs FOC. They were very positive about what they had in tow for 2013 and it was refreshing to hear positivity from such a loss. They have worked so hard to get back up and a finals gig would be awesome for them. Go 'crabs'.

Hi all we dont want to take anything away from the finals
but we would like you to consider this.

As people would already know we are suspended for the remainder of the season.
We are seeking an appeal on that descision but unfortunately it is proving to be
More and more difficult to have it granted.
We would like any club that feels we are being hard done by to lodge a note of support.
At this stage we can still not state our side of the case due to our appeal.
All we can ask is that you judge us on how you have been received by our club this year.

panthers, love what you have done in the last couple of years, but I reckon you have less chance than Essendon, and they are doomed. Albeit they can afford the best legal perps. I for one love playin' you guys but someone needs to take control and it hasn't happened. Sorry no support for doing the wrong thing. :(

Agreed, love the way they play and no I wasn't there. SO, if they did nothing wrong why have the league come down so severley on them. You only play finals if you are disciplined, end of story.

I agree - therefore, if anyone is going to give feedback, keep it constructive or it'll be gone.

This isn't another excuse to take pot shots.

Best of luck with the appeal Panthers.

Huh? :? I'm lost, I was agreeing that each person/club should only judge Smithfield on how they were individually received by Smithfield..

If I was going to judge Smithfield on the game I seen earlier in the season as a club:

1. Friendly canteen staff
2. B grade played in the right spirits and they didn't give up or go the knuckle even though they were getting flogged.
3. Some of the worst lighting going around.
4. Couple of bad eggs in the A grade that loved the snipes behind play or late
5. Some talented, big strong bodies in the A grade.
6. No one will forget the incident in the crowd.

I've never previously had or seen an issue with Smithfield either in footy or cricket, but there are definitely were some unsavoury characters both on the ground and in the crowd, and to be honest I felt comfortable being their with my daughter during the B grade game but when the A grade game was playing I did feel a little uncomfortable and could sense/feel a difference in atmosphere hence the main reason I left which as history shows was a good move..

The umpiring didn't help the situation either and just felt like the game was going to boil over, and the crowd was blood thirsty

"After informal discussion with various stakeholders in the Division 7 competition, The League has determined that the 6th placed team at the end of the minor round will compete in the Elimination Final in place of the Smithfield Football Club.

The League considers it to be in the best interests of football in general to offer as many people as possible the opportunity to play as much football as possible and this ethos was roundly supported by those consulted.

G'day Q

How did you see yesterday's games between Flinders and your boys? 2 wins for Houghton the first time they met and 2 losses this time round. I think it was about a 20 goal turnaround in the A's

What were your thoughts?
