Warming up at the right end, no stretching & banning slacks from being worn to the game ;)

Hahahaha. That and a really easy pre-season.

No, Zartan had employed morell's meadow (Copyright 2015) this year after reading about it on safooty. :D

I definitely don't think they get it right, not saying the winner isn't deserving of the award. Sumner has all the attributes that umpires love. There would be a few games where he polled votes and didn't make the top 3 in his club best players.

I would imagine winning a club B&F is more highly regarded than umpires votes. Especially in lower grades. Remember woewodin has more brownlow's than carey, ablett snr and matthews put together. I wouldn't take what they vote as gospel.

Sportingpulse isn't always the best guide.. According to WC's best players against us in round 15 he wasn't in the best, but if he wasn't BOG that day then im LeBron James.. He rightly got the 3 votes from the umpires

Well their votes are gospel when it comes to awarding association B&Fs

Against Fitzroy round 3 he got the three votes and fifth best for WC. In a losing side. That works both ways. I am saying umpires struggle with picking best players.

As a coach I have no interest picking opposition best players for votes towards a medal. There is enough things already to worry about.

I've always felt the same when coaching.

And you have been doing such a great job rewarding those that deserve it. Well done.

Agreed, coaches already have plenty to consider. So do umpires which makes you wonder what the relevance is of the medals?

It's not rocket surgery. The umpires that I've umpired with take pride in selecting the right players, to the point of checking the paper to see how well they match up.

It probably only really matters once you start getting to D5, D6 and D7. No doubt the quality of the umpires higher up would result in more accurate voting.

We have umpires in D7 (and D7R) that I am telling you would have absolutely no idea what they're putting down.

inb4 - but the winner was deserving
