If they fold i think players automatically become de-registered which allows them to go play elsewhere should they league decide to forfeit them for the rest of the year I don't think the players can go anywhere but I could be wrong....can someone shed more light?

The club has to be officially disbanded before permits can be granted for players to play elsewhere.

My way of thinking is that Ovingham as a club have not been wound up they are suspended by the league from playing so the players remain registered to the club. The Club (which really includes the players) need to negotiate a way of paying off the debts.

So if the league suspends the club for the season, then the players are suspended as well?
Sounds a bit harsh i mean if your a bloke who worked your a** off and was fully financial and becoz the mistake ONE bloke made, you all get punished!

Anyway all hypotheticals, hopefully the can come out better and remain strong and rebuild from this

If all the problems stem from 1 guys mistake then it could be viewed as harsh but I'd take a punt and say there would be a fair few unfinancial players that have contributed to the problem.

Correct. My mail is that only a dozen or so players are financial. However, with all the takings from the bar this year i'd say the problem goes far deeper than players not paying their subs.

i think there are a few more than a dozen but it still isn't good enough...

secondly the Sponsorship 'deal' that was made is a joke... we don't see much, if any, of the bar takings... the club can't survive when the sponsor runs the bar and takes the money to pay off the bills he took on as a sponsor... again mismanaged...

According to this weeks budget the Ovies v Athelstone game has already been called a forfeit this week is this correct? That's 3 forfeits now for the B grade does this mean they will no longer be allowed to play again this season?

I know of sides that have forfeited 3 games before and been allowed to play on it's not a hard and fast rule.

didn't know about that. have a meeting with Shadiac tonight to discuss the options.

according to an email sent to the club, we can still play as long as we have a payment plan in place and even then we may or may not get recognised if we won... can't remember all the details, but after tonight i will be able to tell more...
