Was a beauty alright. Trinity up by a couple at quarter time, before Mawson Lakes settled and got over the top of them.

Is Kym Pearce the oldest SAAFL Premiership Player at 57?

Thought he was playing in the Hills? Kersbrook..

Really I used to play against kym back in our div 2 days thats awesome to win a flag at his age :D

Yep same bloke. His lads still run around at Kersbrook. 9th flag for Kym from 11 GF's

You're better than that Ian. Didn't see you complaining at start of the year with Naley & Co (who are about 15 years younger than the avg. Age of Lakes C4) playing this grade, didn't those same guys just win a Div 6R flag? What's that saying about glasshouses?

Hahaha, not at all. I think it is a fact. First premiership as Mawson Lakes. Congrats, enjoy and see ya in div 6 again next year.

How was the standard of C4 this year compared to last year? Someone like PG might be able to answer. How would our pnu side from last year have gone?

I would have kicked 190 if that shit coach of mine actually gave me enough game time ;)

PNU would've still gone undefeated - but with a larger percentage.
TOS were pretty much the same, couple extra runners.
Lockleys I didn't think were as strong

Ingle Farms C grade last year would've beaten this years C grade by plenty, and this years side finished top.

There were a lot more weaker teams this season.

Mawson Lakes side that played in the GF on the weekend would've played deep into finals last season and possibly the GF with the experience they have.

It's not really relevant though, each season is different and it's not fair on those competing this year to be judged against other sides and speculate the result.

PG, I certainly wasn't trying to stroke our ego or anything like that. It really is hard to judge the quality of the footy. We really struggled to make the jump to div 8 early in the season as it was a big difference. Yet I worked at pnu on Saturday and saw the athelstone v broadies c grade game and I thought it looked no better than C4 from last year.

Was nothing to do with PNU, I was trying not to be disrespectful to the sides this season.

Thomas Krieg from TOS would be the only indicator, kicked 45 goals in 7 minor round matches this year compared to 94 over a full season last year and only 38 the year before that.

I actually thought at times last year the standard of C4 was quite reasonable, there were sides that were better than the teams Ingle Farm B grade were playing some weeks.

As I mentioned earlier, more "weaker" sides this season too - Pooraka, Para Hills, Hectorville, Glenunga.. Where as last season no side could be taken lightly - Para Hills on a Friday night were good, Mitchell Park at times had strong sides, Pulteney had plenty of leg speed around the ground and Lockleys, TOS & PNU were obviously good.

Lockleys had a few former A graders play Bs this year, the B's were mostly kids. Their focus was trying to win a A grade flag, the best players were picked for As, then Bs then Cs, there was no stacking of sides.
Hopefully with the number of kids that played Bs they will keep on improving and make good A graders pushing a few more of the older players down the grades just like happened this year
