How is the state side structured this year? Open age? And who when and what are they playing?

Under 23, I think during Easter and the Div 1 bye.

It's a promo for the Sports Association of which the football club is only one of at least twenty five associated sports. It's trying to say to students, that no matter what sport they play, University has a club fit it.

Went and watched salisbury nth v gaza, hawks won by about 8-10 goals. Hawks had about 5 players out and played alot of b graders during the game. unsure about gaza but the eagles didnt kick a major after 1/4 time.

I was there for the last half too and didn't see too many goals.

Typical first hit out - wouldn't take too much from out of it from either side.

Portland played host to SMOSH WL playing Reserves and A grade. Lions got up by about 10 goals in the B's but Portland A's were a different story. From the midway mark in the second term Portland A's dominated the rest of the game to win by 10+.

PNU got up over Morphys at the Pastie by plenty

Portland had a few handy players from Lucindale playing for them so I wouldn't read too much into that result. SMOSH looked pretty good to me in both grades. Quite tall and looked well drilled. Still a few to come back in for them too.

Who was the full forward for Portland...solid unit No.23?

The 3 Lucindale Lads only played the last 30 mins of the game when we put a few lads on ice, was a good first hit out for us to blow some cobwebs out, SMOSH seem to have plenty of new faces and a lot of them seem to be young Lads, they have always had a solid junior program and by the looks of it is starting to pay off. we could use one of the 4 Giants SMOSH have running around in there A grade, The FF is Shane Catteral, played for us last year, possibly a bit fitter than he was last year :)

I had a look at him yesterday. Shane Catterall ex Port Districts. There are some good players floating around wearing number 23 ;)

Was good to have a look at PNU v Portland yesterday. Both teams with lots of outs so it's hard to know how much to take from the contest. Portland got the jump early but the Falcs got on top around the middle meaning the quality of supply to a new look forward line improved and resulted in a pretty efficient scoring rate. Was good to have a look at the new recruits on show. All looked good and will provide valuable contributions throughout the year for PNU. Really looking forward to round one... A good old Port v Norwood of the SAAFL variety showdown at Largs
