A 6 goal last quarter saw Smithfield steal the victory from Greenies.
Panthers play their ground well and set up a lot of play from the half back line.
Lane still kills it off half back and Thompson is also good.
Clarke in the centre for Greenies was very good.
I would expect both sides to play finals this year.

Bit cheeky submitting a clearance for a bloke after he's already played 4x games..
Even cheekier to play him the next day against the club seeking clearance from before he's actually been cleared!

How often do PNU play blokes who haven't been cleared?
Bloke has played all season for CBCOC - clearance only requested the night before playing against the club he left though

Thought that may have been the case.
Remains to be seen - be interesting to see what action the league takes (if any).
In most circumstances I might suspect just a simple mistake, but considering that the coach of that side is also a former Ingle Farm coach, he would know better..

Did they kick to the pub end in the last?

Definitely the same person, have known he's been playing all year, and I saw him Saturday and spoke to him, and he confirmed it.
No excuses - coach is a former Ingle Farm coach, he knows he would need a clearance and that he last played at Ingle Farm.. A quick search of SportingPulse would've shown it up too.

I remember Smithfield venturing to Rowe Park a few years ago for round 18 where a win would see them gain the minor premiership, they lost narrowly and finished fifth heading into the finals.

I recall playing Woody South back a few years in Div 5 in Round 18 and the winner finished 5th and played finals, the loser got relegated. That's how tight it was. Lucky for us we won, felt for Woody South though in that scenario. Was a close game too
