"The Vidal Sassoon Demons" snatched victory from the jaws of defeat up at Houghton today. The Mountain Men played tough hard footy for 3 quarters and in the end just ran out of legs as the Deez top players lifted their team over the line.

Corbett took his game to another level in the last quarter and with the usual suspects - Williams, Plough, Mitchell, Mickan and Banger Hall got their boys over the line.

Corb's was not just tagged today, I think that would be an understatement, it was like watching a pack of Stevie Baker's on Steve Johnson. But I suppose that worked to our favour, cause in the end, the normally cool calm and collected Corb's fired up and answered the hecklers on the hill and multiple opponents on the field, with yet another BOG performance.

That's what good players do, I suppose.... cop it sweet and put the score on the board, well done Corb's you showed real class and real toughness in taking them on and beating the tag, hands down!

To Houghton, we were lucky you were undermanned and unfit today cause you played well for 3 quarters, however from my observations this season that pretty well sums your season up. Undermanned and not fit enough! Not really an excuse in Round 13. Very Lucky Demons you got out of jail. ;)

No I didn't...wasn't that interesting or even worth a mention.

My point is, Corbett was still the Best Footballer on the Ground for 4 quarters even if he spent 10 minutes on the pine. AND with other Senior players stole the game from Houghton in the Final term! ;)

Houghton must have been fitter earlier in the year Darf  Or perhaps your mob weren't fit then. Considering some of the absolute hidings the Raiders have copped I wouldn't get too excited by your mobs effort today. As someone from your club said to me " The worry is many of the Lockley lads are frightened when it gets tough" (He wasn't talking about 3 ,5, 14)

I disagree, IMO there were plenty of better players on the day. I also think your backline deserve some credit for repelling a number of shots on the goal line.

Which part of my comments didn't you guys understand?

The Mountain Men played tough hard footy for 3 quarters -
we were lucky -
Demons you got out of jail AND
Corbett was BOG

Don't worry we're not excited about today's game.

Corbett was well held IMO and you had plenty of better players besides him. But who you give your best player awards isn't really any of my business.

To say he received 'Stevie Baker' like treatment is a fair overstatement. Both clubs didn't back down from a physical contest, your lads were just as willing to throw their weight around. It will be a good lesson for your lads as you look toward finals football.

At the end of the day, it was a good game, a great contest and we just lacked the polish that Lockleys possess. It was a great effort by the lads, but unfortunately, great efforts alone don't win you games of footy.

you were obviously at a different game today champ I've always looked forward to your posts on here but today you were way off the mark, maybe you are living in your own made up dillusional world? Corbett was far from best today number 5 clearly dominated and got your team over the line, gd hard player and broke too many tackles to count. And to say corbett was delt with like steve Johnson is garbage it went both ways the only time he went down was through a head clash and to his credit he came back on and played but def didn't set the world on fire maybe it's bout time you gave some of the other guys out there the credit they deserve.....

What game were you at DD??!!! Corbett was smashed yesterday, couldn't handle the tag from the onset. Nothing but a sook!! You should be praising Carl Mickan DD, he showed real class and won you the match.

All in all it was a great match up at Houghton. Well done Raiders, showed some real spirit. Should be proud of your efforts, your supporters certainly are, and proved that if you stick together over the next few rounds and the following seasons, success is not far off. Great stuff boys, just beaten by a better side in the end, a side which has had time to develop over the past few years. We'll get there lads, just keep working hard.

What Post were you reading!

If you DID read my post you would clearly see that I mentioned "the usual suspects" #5 Williams #14 Plough and of course #4 Mickan. Along with key defender Mitchell and Ruckman Banger. And regarding the Stevie Baker style of tag, I saw your #20 elbowing, punching and slapping Corbett repeatedlly all day 100 metres off the ball...if that's not similar, YOUR RIGHT I must have been at a different game.

Next time I have an opinion I'll get you guys to check it before I post it. KMA
