How does someone make a racist comment without ethnicity being involved?

Back to year 4, or perhaps back to jail or where ever else you come from.

Good to see the Portland lads and supporters have a couple of drinks after the game and support the club. Once again dissapointed with a certain Portland player/supporter who left the males toilet cubicle in such disgusting manner. pretty classy bunch of blokes!

Dont have a problem copping it from the sidelines from anyone, however runners are on the field to deliver messages to their players from their coach. They have no right to say anything to any opposition players.[/quote]

I agree with the runner's job description but I do think they have a marginal job in a bit of mouth, but it has to be within reason. As i said earlier I did not hear see anything come out of our runners mouth. Confusion with another that may have been behind. We have to agree that it is a part of footy and we have to get on with it. When that bloke with the dred's thought he heard something it was in the middle of play so it may have beem mis heard as something else. We may have the "You Mob and down the port" characterisation but the allegation is not something we are known for or want to be. If that was the case in the changerooms there is no excuse for that. I agree with you whole heartedly about that. I do find it hard however that our side more importantly our A grade side would do something like that. Could it have been someone else? I dont know. Unless it was seen nd heard with proof like the other allegation you really cant persue it any further. This is my first full year back at the club for the best part of 4 years and even back then oppostion players would hardly ever stay back and have a beer. I think its great to see and keeps good relationships between all clubs and in the long term promotes good sportsmanship. With the juniors seeing this go on it should continue and to have the home side open its doors up to the visiting side helps earn that extra money the club may never have earnt.

Plenty of boys on the sidelines heard what your runner had to say to our player, and it will be followed up, absolutely piss weak effort (but about all you can expect from your mob). As for the ground, it's probably in the best condition it's been in all year, yeah the centre is hard, but if you can't handle that mate, consider a different sport!
Can't fault the Portland A grade lads, wanted it more in the last quarter, and go it. We were 'unlucky', 3 goals in the last we should have kicked and didn't, that was the difference. The umpires paid free kicks for holding the ball without opportunity to get rid of it all day, but they were paid both ways, all day, so can't complain, you just have to adjust to them sometimes.
On another note - who's responsible for letting the lady in the hat out for the day!?!?!?!
Cheers for the drink Felch, owe you one. Had a word to the dentist, won't happen again ;)

Not a prob mate with the drink. Always good to catch up for a drink with some of the lads on here. Lady with the hat ? You are either talking about Wareing's disgraceful ladies headband he had on after the game (he was BOG by a mile), or referring to one of our players mother (our CHB). She is a great supporter of the club, very positive win or lose.
Have to agree, we wanted it more in the last quarter. Thought we were gone early in the 3rd, but we managed to ground you guys down with hard tackling and pressure. Another cracker of a game between us.
Ground is very hard, but wasnt too bad. Not sure what can be done about the centre area - probably nothing. It does make me appreciate our oval though.
PM me about the toilet issue Hawkie - i went in there just before i left and it was fine. Not good enough if one of our guys did something to it. Let me know and i will get to the bottom of it.
Little bit peed off with your A grade coach refusing to shake hands with our coach though - it comes across as sour grapes. One comment he made in particular was noted - even though it didnt actually make much sense !!!
I think some people may just need to get their facts right before accusing people of racist comments, and that includes the Mitcham coaching staff !!!

If these allegations of both racism and toilet damage is true, that is definatly not on. there is definatly no place for racism in our game or any game for that, i wasnt in the area and only found out about it when i witnessed the little altercation between coaches after the game. hawkie ranger i think you should look a bit closer to home when talking abouut cookoo women at the footy, the elder of the 2 female water ladies was to be putting it mildly, very strange. will be ery interested to watch the tribuneral appearances this week as i believe a mitcham player had his number taking for urinating on the oval at half time. that headband was terrible ;)

Very poor form by the Mitcham coach not to shake Andy's hand after the game! Sure he might not be a big fan of him probably given his coaching record against him but very ordinary effort!

Andy did say to a few of our boys later on that he actually thought he was a reasonable sort of bloke the Mitcham coach but he certainly is not of that view now. Probably can understand now why some of the Mitcham players are not made of sterner stuff when they have a bloke like that in charge!

All in all a good game of footy with terrible umpiring for both sides. The league really does need to look at the current standard of umpiring, it is very sub-standard... Both sides had their opportunities to win the game but probably a correct post-mortem by others previously that the side that wanted to win more won. The absence of Hardy was a loss for Mitcham but Sulkowski did a reasonable job against a very in-form Perkins.

Interesting final 3 rounds coming up!! ;)

was fantastic to see both of this players feet leave the ground as this is very rare ;) mitchem coach is a tool and nothing less, probably the most unsportsman like thing you could do is not shake hands after the game, win or lose.
