I'd imagine Smithfield would need to recruit a few more players to be competitive in div 5, at a guess they'd be a middle of the rung team at best, their lines look pretty strong though looking at the team line up sheets.
If they could get Chris James and Michael Taylor back they'd be looking a fair bit stronger. luring Adam Varcoe back home would be very handy too.

id hope to see it happen love to see them rise to the granny, sure div 5 would have stronger teams, but surely the difference between the strength of div 4 to div 6 clubs wouldnt be that vast

a few extra tweaks, a little rise in work rate it, wouldnt really take too much to increase competitiveness, and the excitement of how theyre are going will attract new recruits anyway

do points allocated to new players this season get wiped next season?

I'm not sure many would carry points, Ashby would be a 3 and Garner a 2 I reckon, as far as I know they'll decrease a point each, James, Varcoe and Taylor would all be zero's. Early would carry points aswell I think.

13 points used by SFC in the grand final which surprised me a bit..each player drops a point next year..3 becomes 2..2 becomes 1..etc etc..

Hmmmm.

Ashby 3
Garner 2
Earley 3

At a guess I'd say Gray, Norton & Wanganeen make up the rest of the points, I'm not too sure on who was there final 22 though.

I'm not sure how many junior or senior games Gray played for Smithfield previously.

I have heard its down to two. I wouldn't be so sure on your mail. Probably fair to say its half a chance.

Down to two and one is the person I'm thinking of? I would think he's better than 50% chance..

Also heard Stubberfield might be back at West Croydon again next season?

He's played a lot of games for that club, doubt he's putting his hand out.

Wow that's great for Lockleys to get him back then. Out of all the footballers I've played against he's probably the most improved from where he started back in juniors. Turned into a very decent Ruckman.

At a guess I'd say after he won an association medal he would've had a little incentive thrown his way. I'd be very surprised if he was a money chaser...
