Considering some of the floggings you have given teams I would have thought if Payney's a onballer you would've had another forward kick alot more 11.

Valid point...

Just to clarify, I'm not saying I don't rate the other players in BL forwrd line. They all must be dangerous players. My point is that BL have 2 major goal kickers that need to be stopped in order to beat them. Same goes for CL. I also see that Mckee is playing for BL from christies last year. I know he was on $300 a game last year. Would have thought he wouldn't have been playing for free this year, would he??

Bookworm might be trying to say that he might be less dangerous with less/no money. ;)

Not trying to open any can of worms. I just know for fact he was on $300 a game last year. Players on that money as you know don't give that up to play for free thats all i'm saying. Hence the reason it is sometimes very difficult for non paying clubs to get players. The only way to move up divisions is to recruit players and unfortunatley that comes at a price.

I know Ryno fairly well and know for a fact he is playing at BL to play with his brother and some mates, as for the money thing he is not getting anywhere near what he was at Christies and from what i have seen he is starting to play some good footy and really enjoying it at the Lodge.

i believe the major differance between the sides would be the back 6 of CLG be alot stronger than brahma lodges that would be the major 1 in my opinion. CLG's back 6 run and rebound better than any side i'v seen. both sides have a strong ruck divison with skillfull on ballers, but again maybe CLG midfields depth may go alittle deeper than brahma's but saying that hayes, patterson, rhodes and co. are front liners no doubt another major part in this game for me is the ground off CLG so i'd put my cash on CLG by 3 or 4

His brother was 1 of the reasons I was told why he left. Good on him, wasn't having a go at him or any club that pays, but lets be honest if you can it helps clubs move forward

Maybe not in the lower divisions, although we are starting to see more of it now, but certainly if you want to keep moving up divvys then you need to recruit more and more quality players, and the main reason they will come is some sort of incentives or payment

Its an argument that has raised its head quite a few times, I am personally very against player payments. I could not imagine having blokes next to me that were getting money to be out there. To me it defeats the purpose of why I play footy in the first place.

I understand the need to recruit players, we have struggled immensely in recent years but I would much rather have a club that is rooted in brotherhood, tradition and loyalty and lose most weeks than resort to cash payments for mercenaries whom I barely know and win most weeks. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Our full forward is a classic example. He could play Div 1 or 2 if he wanted. Was offered a lot of money to move to CLG this year. He refused. One couldn't put a price on the respect and admiration he has earned because of that from his mates at the club. That, to me, is what makes a club successful.

Good to put a name to the face and player.

He certainly has an intensity that is perhaps unrivaled at this level.

Does he get under peoples skin or is it always positive?

Very valid points Morrell. In a ideal world that would be great however times are changing and more and more money is being thrown around, alot of times to the wrong players. its just a fact that if the bottom division clubs want to move up higher and higher at some stage there will have to be a culture change and pay some sort of incentives. As we can maybe see some of the div 6 clubs are doing this.

He also travelled a fair way to get that $$$

Ryno is at the lodge to play with brown! Well probably not, more so his brother and ex EP mates.

Ryno is now the Under 9's coach at BL so I guess it shows how much he is liking the place.
