thats a big call
u implying that havens cheated silent hour??????

in a touch of irony, it's been suggested that the A grade game (Portland v Fitzroy) may not have reached it's full conclusion....

I was there Punk, and I thought the quarter went for ages. Not saying it was right or wrong either way, just an observation.

good 1 falcon chick. you try and stop our freedom of speech about the duration of the final quarter at the portland fitzroy game and you go blowing your own trumpet on talking amateurs about the duration of the north haven and cbc game the work before. double standards. good on ya

I didn't mention any clubs and I said allegedly.. I wasn't there.

However, I was at Portland on Saturday....

Those that post on here and myself all had a chat on Saturday anyway, I don't think there will be any drama from those involved.

Its just a matter of keeping troublemakers like yourself at bay... honestly, I don't know how anyone that wasnt there could comment without trying to spark an argument, so dont bother.

The only way I will stop freedom of speech is by waving the ban stick...try me... :?

My 2c worth.. there should be 2 timekeepers at all times anyway... that way there can be no argument.

If only one side can provide a time keeper & the time on that clock states end of term, so be it blow the siren.
Very easy to point the finger at the end of a close game at the timekeeper, especially when the result doesn't go your way & theres only one of them, where's the other i may ask?
Stop whinging & get your supporters off their ass & get involved.

If u boys win it makes the top 3 pretty hard to get into as u would jump 2 games clear of the Jets & 3 games clear of us but we currently havent beaten a team in the Top 5 this year yet & if we do get up over line against u boys it puts a totally different spin on things as u would only be 1 game clear of both the Jets & us so 3rd spot will be up for grabs & could be the game of the season as PAOC & Mitcham will be looking on with a very keen interest in what happens & the end result!

I agree RL, very big game. Worth double points to us i reckon - a win would make it very tough for us to be dislodged from the top 3. We got ourselves back into a little bit of form last week, the break definately did us some good.

Its been 10 weeks since we played each other - i know both sides are looking very different than they did in round 1. Should be a good game.

Congrats to u & your boys on your win there Felch as u have pretty much have sown up 3rd spot & will get the double chance after giving our Ressie's side a fair thumping on saturday & u boys are more than capable of giving the Top 2 a fair run for their money for the minor premiership & good luck for the rest of the season!

As for us it is back to the drawing board because our performance on the weekend was nothing short of embarrassing not because we lost but it was in the way we lost especially having conceeded 15 goals in 2 quarters of footy that u had the wind as u boys were more hungryer for the football & our inconsistcity week to week is very frustrating!!
We now have our work cut out for us as are now sitting outside the Top 5 & face the improving Cbcoc side this week in a danger game which we need to win to get our season back on track!!!

Very fair point there Falcon Chick & at the end of the day Portland won & Fitzroy lost & we all move on to this weeks games!

Was an entertaining day of football down at the Port & triple headers are a big winner as there were 2 final results that of the A grade & the C grade that were decided by less than a goal & some great footy on diplay through out the whole day & afterwards players from both sides went to unwind in the club rooms for a drink, which is the way footy should be

Oh i now know who u are Falcon Chick as did see u at the game getting some highlights

The Portland vs Fitzroy game was a great game of footy. Both times they have played this year, the matches have been decided by under a kick. I think both sides play a similar bash-and-crash style, and are very evenly matched. Coulter played ok, without dominating. He will only get better though, as he gets used to the grade. Kicked a great goal in the last quarter to almost seal it for Fitzroy. Both sides failed to find a clear, winning forward most of the day.

Something i noticed with the best players in the paper - Foley was best for Fitzroy (and rightly so) but his man kicked 4, and the winning goal. Likewise for us, Gein was listed as 2nd best - he played on Neate, who also kicked 4, and kicked Fitzroy's last goal to put them in front very late.
Both defenders played very well though for their respective teams.

As for the timekeeping issue, its a non-issue really. I had a good chat with the Fitzroy bloke who was keeping time for them (in a non-official capacity) and he was the first to admit that they should have had an official timekeeper with our bloke. Our timekeeper is adament he is correct, and hes the only one who counts on the day. There was a bit of angst after the game from a few Fitzroy supporters, but it was a very close game all day, with plenty at stake for both sides. After everyone had calmed down, common sense prevailed over a couple of beers in the clubrooms.

On the Ressies Roaring Lion, the bye a couple of weeks back has certainly helped us. A few of our guys seem to have pulled their fingers out. We have Mitcham this week at their ground so we need to keep that intensity going.

Who's your no.25 Felch, IMO he was best by far (in the 2nd half anyway...). Tell the coach his clanger in front of goals is Rootworthy* be watching on Thursday for that one

For Fitzroy, I also liked Foley (no11?) and the guy who played in defence they called Socky? (21) Punk can confirm these names for me..

Haha, that was a terrible miss. He had a shocker ! No 25 was Ross Bament, he was very good.

Foley was no 7, he was excellent. No 11 was Sullivan, he killed us on the wing. His opponent didnt pay him enough respect in the first half, we tightened up on him in the second half. Soky was very good, zones off his man beautifully and drops in the hole. Opposition sides need to kick it to his opponent to make him more accountable - something we didnt do!

If Matty Nelson played any wider on the far wing, he would have been in the backyard of the houses !!!

Both sides were guilty of that. Fitzroy actually ran the ball out of their back half much better than us.

Don't worry, I know that, I couldn't get a shot of one side's play, hence why your 25 and that Socky guy were best players... they were everywhere!

I think I got worthy marks for Chris Sims (24?), I don't have who was no.14 on saturday though..

i have a question for all you genious's, i have seen a few of the north haven games and the UMPIRES have been very one sided, i mean it was getting over the top with the most blaten and ridiculous free kicks being payed. I just want to know whether or not any one agrees/disagrees or has had this happen in games they have watched or been apart of? because if it does continue or even worsens i feel that an umpire could really get hurt by someone. That is how bad they are an how noticeable it is. :D
