With this in mind I'm not sure how the league can justify holding finals at CBC and Old Iggies. CBC slightly in front but both grounds in my opinion dont fulfil the above criteria.

Both ovals are not in the best nick at the moment but you would be hard pressed to find one that is.
I think that the point about shelter for spectators is where Iggies would loose out, CBC have a verandah similar to Portland.
Do iggies sell West End?? Im guessing they will be this weekend.

yeh they sell SAB produce. will all you non playing portland boys be at HQ oval on saturday? will have to get jimmy to point you out for a red can special whilst giving piccachu greif ;)

We will all be around the place I would think Teaboy, stear clear of marbles, he is bad news.
Not sure if Im gonna drink yet, might even run some water for the lads, see what happens.
Definately have one after the game though

What do you mean by this Fist? Im shocked to think that i am not an approachable person even to have a drink with!

how are iggies travelling i heard tom carr is done for the year with a hammy, brodie atkins did a hammy either on the weekend or the week before and big white did a calf against us and hasnt played since does anyone know if white or atkinson will play this weekend and weather or not the tom carr rumour is true

from what i've been told. carr gone, atkinson has had a dodgy hammy all year but doubtful. white will play according to a mate.
mark white and whiteman didnt play on the w/e either i assume they were rested? also still trying to work out if frinsdorf is O/S still. saw photos of him in ibiza so even if he does come back cant see him being in the best shape. ;) but in saying that frinny could probably play on a stinker of a hangover and still be good.

and yeh Dev was in QLD last week plus there were 2 others out both were crook, weve had a fair bit of flu in the club. not the reason we lost though

dead right newman i was looking at this monday but didnt want to say anything as it would like like im having a winge, when i heard we were playing Iggies i thought we would be playing them at Thebby.

Looking at the draft copy of the finals a division 7 match is scheduled for thebarton oval on saturday. More madness.

Because it is the only grade having a neutral ground......

you we're too quick off the mark! but yeah as said id guess there will be a few changes from the seaton game couple on form couple back from injury/holiday/work.
we've been pretty lucky with injuries though lost Gunning (knee) in rd2 and Gazzola (ankle) in rd 12?? but besides them havent had any long term injuries. although in saying that both those blokes would strole into our top10. and are both only 19

Going back a few pages r.e. Iggies and the school. Iggies have not played at the school for well over 10-15 years. It has only been in the past 5-6 years that they have managed to get one or two games there each year. The school and club have an agreement to play football at the school annually. Also if you have visited Hunter Park this year, you can see that the club is making a consensus effort to try and improve the facilities. They recognised that the oval and facilities were not in good shape and have been working hard to try and improve them. They are also in the process of trying to improve the playing surface as well. Hunter Park will be OIFC home ground for at least the next 5 years......

Anyway, the fact they finish 2nd gives them the option of hosting a final (remembering clubs do have to pay money to the SAAFL) to host them a final. And as FC wrote, this has been the wettest season for a while and all ovals are in terrible condition. So everyone get over it.

FWIW, Iggies to win by 15 points.

As it was mentioned before threestars its not really about the oval its the facilities. Im not trying to be an idiot towards you mate just is the only thing i have seen done to the oval is a scoreboard. It wasnt used when we played their a few weeks ago (C grade) i know its C grade but it was not used. The changerooms are old and there is no shelter for fans to watch or any food or the like to buy from.
Thats been the topic mate just the facilities. We all know about the weather, Jane Riley has told us all that for weeks. Every ground gets sh!thouse after it rains. Especially since the rain we've had lately. Our club got criticised for having smaller opposition changerooms compared to our's. Hunter Park is not the worst place to play footy on after the wet. Thats all

For what its worth Portland to win by16 points ;)
