Does anyone know if the captains automatically get an invite to the presentation? or its a coinsidence that our captains played well. Dont get me wrong i think Bomber Clifford had a great season. Our B Grade skipper missed 6 or 7 games. Wouldnt say he had a good year by what i saw.

Just looking at the people selected from my club as the top 4 vote getters. Bit of a joke that is.
A Grade Woodville South
Clifford, Adam
Job, Konrad
Nappa, Ben
Taylor, Jake

B Grade Woodville South
Armsden, Andrew
Johnson, Adam
Sparkes, Aaron
Taylor, Kevin

Some of these guys only played a handful of games for the season. I dont understand who nominates these people.

Three out of four of ours in the A Grade were probably right. The guy who will win our B&F didn't get an invite though.

There'd be at least one from each club that should've got an invite but haven't I would think.

Not having a go at one particular player but he played 5 games for the season in the A grade and that was it. Nathan Raynor should be there. He and bomber should be really the only 2 from our club going. Its a joke. The other 3 i don't have a problem with going.

The clubs should nominate the top 4 players for the season or maybe 3 and the captain. Something similar to what the AFL do. The captain automatically gets an invite.

That wouldnt work though, the whole idea is to ensure the winner gets invited.

Anyone can go, so the top 4 from each club is really only a guide. If the captain wants to go, he can.

Our top 4 were pretty spot on. Our 1st and 2nd in the B&F got invited from the A grade, and the B&F from the B grade did too.

Anybody is invited to the Medal Count!!!
The League sends out the top 4 so clubs have a guide as to who the best were, according to the umpires.

That was actually my point. The word 'invite' is used loosely - perhaps 'notified' is better...

The actual winner from each div will then get an "invite" to the div 1 and 2 medal night on September 9. If anyone else from the club wants to go, they have to fork out the money for the night.

The Para Hills/Iggies game on Saturday is gonna be a ripper. Para Hills will want to exact revenge from their 'poor' display two weeks ago. Iggies will struggle with Tyson breaking his leg last weekend. However, I expect Janetski (who kicked 10 goals round 1 against Salisbury) and Jarrod Schar to be big options up forward with Rolfe to float in and be another option. Para Hills well their forward line is the best in the division as already been mentioned plenty of times before. Flynny and Hanson play a bit further up the game (from what I can remember) with Frick closer to goal. It has obviously worked a treat for them all year.

The game IMO will simply come to a battle of the midfield - Frinsdorf dominated last time and controlled the middle. Bamford was down. Here is hoping for a good battle.

only 12 C graders for portland with a few B's guys going down making it about 15 or 16 I believe
did something else happen??

All I heard was that there was a bit of a tiff and the Iggies umpire was going to call the game off.....

Probably because the bloke from Iggies C's is the worst umpire in Amature Leauge!

Seriously, I think Attitude is Massive, Like confidence is in Cricket, Attitude is the be all and end all come football, If you can mentally apply yourself through out the year in Div 3 you will be succsesful, In Div 4, you can have a down patch for a week or two and get picked back up with a win against a bottom side.

Pretty much, at Salisbury, the year started well, trial matches and Pre Season training, First game Moral took a blow with the loss to Iggies, The next week we were picked up by a win against Woodie South and had about 40 blokes at training Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights (C's & D's train seperatly) for a week or two, then playing Para Hills and Walkerville our numbers on the track dropped, we came up against Portland who were struggeling at the time and got smashed, Moral was compleet zero, Some blokes left the club and number dwindled so badly, we were getting 18/26 blokes Tuesdays and Thursdays (not enough numbers to train sepretly anymore)

Div 4 this year, you get beaten by CBCOC/PAOC, then the following week you may back up a tough side with another tough side, but to be honest there were 3 very poor sides in that grade, with 5 sides about equal and all beatable.

I strongly feel Salisbury's best side was two players short of being a top 4 Div 3 side this year, A Big Forward to kick +40 goals and a CHB, as good as our young blokes are, Height down back killed us.

Well, see you blokes in 2011

Tips for this week -

Qual final -SMOSH to beat Walkies, 3-4 goals. Looks like SMOSH have got a few players back fit and firing just in time.
Elim final - PH to beat Iggies, 7-8 goals. Tyson named for Iggies, but cant play with a broken leg. Would make no difference anyway, PH too strong at home.

B grade -
QF - SPOC to beat PH, 5-6 goals
EF - SMOSH over Mitcham, 4-5 goals

True, i dare say a leg is more important than an arm though...for footy anyway.

Correct, otherwise he'd just be running around in a circle all day - a bit like Port Power's game plan....

Tips
Qual final -Walkerville to beat SMOSH. Playing home with the home ground advantage and the upper class supporters with their champaign n snobby attitude and extra support from Walkies B's will help will be too good for SMOSH. Be a tight game. "even though they lost against SMOSH @ home"
Elim final - PH to beat Iggies, 8goals. Having seen Parra Hills last week run riot over woodies, i think they should account for a spirited iggies tomorrow. PH fwrd line will be too much for the Iggies defenders.
Games against each other.
SMOSH West Lakes 14.11 (95) d Walkerville 10.15 (75) @ Walkerville Recreation Ground
Walkerville 13.14 (92) d SMOSH West Lakes 8.17 (65) @ West Lakes Shore Oval
Para Hills 13.9 (87) d Old Ignatians 6.11 (47) @ The Paddocks
Old Ignatians 18.17 (125) d Para Hills 9.10 (64) @ Hunter Park (railways) West Tc

B grade -
QF - SPOC to beat PH, SPOC but only just I think. (2goals) All depends on what PH B grade will turn up. Having seen them thumb WS last week if they play like that then they will give this game a good shake.
EF - SMOSH over Mitcham, 7goals. Didnt rate Mitcham B's that highly.
