Strange that they've played well enough to stay in the a's or b's for the whole year, to get dropped for the first week of finals, but like you said thats how it works when you have teams in higher divisions....... unfortunately.

See nothing wrong with what Henley are doing, with all sides in finals they are operating within saafl rules with players able to rotate between grades and let's be honest, if other sides had that same opportunity/luxury they would do the same, at this time of year it is about putting the best side on the park each week to win and make a GF and secure the flag.............if they win the GF and don't go up, well that is a whole different can of worms.

Road to glory you are exactly right, thats what it boils down to we'll put on happy faces until satdee. Maybe i went a bit overboard with the henley bashing, and they are operating within the rules but i think some changes are needed, maybe the players need to have played in at least one game in that grade to be eligible! but everyone is spot on saying that it is just 22 vs 22 so let the bestest team win, anyway henleys only got a few a graders, while houghton have a team of them!!!!

Don't worry its strange for the lads that got dropped aswell, they're shattered! But it is finals time and everyone puts there hand up in every grade, injury lists shrink and its hard to keep your spot in any grade. Wouldn't be surprised if more come down the week after, are a few to come back in A'/B's.

Won't be able to come down if higher grade is eliminated but can always go up.

Have heard league leading goalkicker B.Vezis is not a certain starter tomorrow, apparently worried the rain might wash off his tough stickers.

Fair enough, I just though it was strange that you'd drop your Div 1R vice-captain and another player who has played a handful of games in your A Grade this year.
