Rd 13 ... an ominous number the day after Friday the 13th ....

Lockleys v BOS - being played at Thebby, will this be an advantage for either at a neutral ground?
Houghton v Lakes - will the lakers slide continue?
Farmers v United - will the famres bounce back and halt the united run?
TOS v Woody South - a loss here may cause TOS to lose touch
Uni v CLG - CLG to consolidate in the 5

really looking forward to getting out and seeing the BOS boys in action this weekend after a few weeks away from the action.

PS - fantastic grass roots on BOS last week, well done to all involved.

just drove past your oval and it looks very good sprint..very green..
thebby might favour lockleys slightly but a great game it will be..
would expect lakers to get the points but you never know what the snake pit will dish up on saturday..
good test for TOS against the top team..

question..10 games might not be enough to get in the 5..do we think 11 wins are needed?
i think the cats will finish top even if they drop a couple..lockleys might secure 2nd with games to come including HDFC and IFFC..so 5 playing for 3 spots? the winner of BOS v LFC may get the second spot?

my guess for the final 5 are as follows
1. ws
2.lockleys
3.blacks
4.clg
5.central united

trinity have 4 out of 6 away and play 3 teams in the top 5 can only see them winning 3 out of remaining 6
clg have 4 out of 6 at home and only play 2 teams in top 5 can see them winning 4 out of 6
if cufc keep there current form up will win atleast 4 out of 6

something would have to change around for the lakes to make it but jus cant see them getting there.
top 3 i think are locked in . order may change around.

I think 4th will finish with 11 wins and 5th with 10 wins % may play a part as 6th may have 10 aswell.
pain is temporary .. pride is forever

Hound Park is in very good condition at the moment. It looks good from the road but is just as good when you walk on it.

Admission for Thebby is $5 for everyone including players & officials. $2 for concession & u/15 free. No glass or alcohol can be brought into the ground. We need a good crowd along so that we can get something back. Home club (read Lockleys) gets gate takings after the SAAFL have taken their cut.

I see the saafl will charge you $60.00 for a carton of beer if your players want to celebrate after a win in the changrooms.

TTG are a C grade side, so should they find themselves in a position to accept promotion, they may elect against it as other C grade sides in recent times have. Therefore it leaves one other position for a team to go up.

It has nothing to do with people not rating Mitchell Park at all, just what may eventuate should TTG earn the upgrade..

exactly i think anyone that has even looked at results from div 7 would agree that mitchell park are the favourites but they would most definately take the chance of promotion, TTG are a different story because of what PG said, C grade side and in the past C grade teams have elected to stay down if they get the chance.

Just on the issue of whether C grade sides should go up or elect not to.... I think it's fair to say that SHOC made the right decision to stay down in D7 this season. The amount of flak they copped at the time of making their decision was a bit over the top.

So does that mean that 2 Div1 or Div2 teams can load up their C's, win a flag and continually stay down. Isn't it about promotion and relegation and not premierships? Shoc knew they would be decimated this year and said, ohhhhh, no we can't be competetive so let's stay in Div7. Makes a mockery of the very thing the league is promoting. Just an opinion.

Is it yank man or crack man? Coz seriously with that post you must be on crack!!
What div 1 or 2 club or infact any club would even contemplate stacking their C grade for the sake of winning cheap div 7 flags?!

Clubs are gauged on the success of their A grade side, imagine approaching a possible sponor and saying "give us money, we are rubbish in the A grade but win lots if C grade flags".

Not only that, but anyone who knows anything knows player numbers fluctuate from year to year, a side that might be strong this year might not even have a side the next..

pretty sure a team has to go up if they make two GF's in a row. Henley is one that comes to mind in recent times after winning two div 7 flags and being forced up, think that was 2009 maybe?

No crack here PG, History tells us the facts about sponsors, not "sponors". They inject into success with no consideration to the levels. Make no mistake 2 flags equals further fundage, regardless of the Div's the premierships are gained. Guess you have to have 4 teams to understand where I come from. If your 1 team and your 2 team can't make it but your 3 team and 4 team can, then go for it. It happens my friend, regularly, whether you like it or not.

If a team cannot possibly win an A Grade flag but still have a chance to win one in the lower grades, it would be you, in fact PG, who would be on crack if you thought stacking B/C/D sides doesn't occur at this time of the year. SHOC are allegedly doing it right now with their D's. Allegedly.

Also, this argument has been done to death, but SHOC absolutely should have gone up to D6 this year, regardless of results or otherwise in D7. By winning the flag and not choosing to go up they have made a mockery of the entire relegation/promotion system and eroded at the fabric of how the SAAFL operates.

The decision really should not be left to the clubs as they will always choose what is best for them, rather than what is best for the sport and competition. Mitchell Park included.

with all the talk about mitchell park id expect them to win div 6 next year then div 5 also with the so called team they have

or how about next year do some trial games against div 2,3,4 sides and see how much you lose by id say easy 10 goals in each game

Congratulations to Mark Smart, who will play his 200th game for the Ingle Farm Football Club. Great milestone and I would like to wish him all the best !! Hopefully the boys can get behind him and cause an upset against the Units !!

You're thinking of the wrong Smart i think, but Mark will be lining up next to Scott in the pocket so the lap dance will be possible and extremely funny.
