CLG just getting up tho interesting and west croydon having a good away win.. must of been a cracker match..

as for our match abit sluggish of the lodge but bounced back nicely and taught MP a thing or two..
MP had one stand out player in Nat McDonnell all day played well as for some others just wanted to hit blokes when we were miles in front..

MP coach came over and gave a great speech to us guys after the game.. happy they got a guy like that as coach and if some of them can take a leaf out of his book they will improve without a doubt..

goodluck to MP
Thanks mate. It was a good day I thought, I didn't stay for the whole game and I didn't see anything too untoward. Would be very disappointed to hear of any reports or send offs for Mitchell Park.

Nat was a very good player for us, the heart and soul of Mitchell Park. Some people get a bit confused with the twins, I still do. Luke is the taller twin and generally plays full forward - #1, Nat is shorter and wears #9 and plays half forward/wing.

Darren quite often talks to other clubs after games. He has a great understanding of football culture and we are very lucky to have him on board. He has implemented some excellent ideas both on and off the field at The Den.

Good luck for the rest of the year, I think BL are the side to beat!

lodge played nothing that we can play but i give it 2 MP there had good patches but still myt struggle this year.. this might be a big call but i think nat mc donnell is the best player in the comp.. he tries harder and is a team man, i can tell the twins apart..

people say about harvey but for me harvey is young and dont perform week out and wants 2 argue and i think CLG have a soft spot for him..

WC have a good forward line but also have a somewhat weak backline, which will hurt them come finals time against the top sides.
I think you'll find if BL contain Vessali (ruckman) they should win the game quite comfortably.

Vessali's versatility in the ruck makes him so valuble!
is he still dominatlng like he was a few weeks back??

okay very interesting you are resting the hawks chances on a ruckman and a forward line.. still got a midfield and backline to step up..

y put all your guns in one spot??

as for the best backline, i would say CLG but after they fell apart against the lodge i dont think you can name one..

As I said in the review I think BL are the team to beat. A better side than CLG IMO.

Strong points would be fluent running, long kicks to targets and highly skilled tall flanking types, complimented by a very cohesive marking forward line. The defensive unit does their job adequately, but its hard to stand out when you're winning by 100 pts.

Weak points would be kicking for goal and a few of your bigger blokes might get exposed by an athletic tall - having said that we're in Div 6, there aren't many Dean Cox's around. Maybe complacency? I think everyone thought you guys would win by 200 points and you took the foot off a bit.

Players that stood out for me ... "Groover" I think? ... of the half back flank - wore skins. Beautiful kick of the football and rebounded very strongly. There was a tall blond midfielder who carved us up. However, the real lynch pin was #25. His presence and mobility was quite frankly scary. I could see why all the girls next to me were swooning.
