Re: SAAFL Div 3
Tell us more about the Raggies drama surrounding their coach boys?
I mentioned at the start of the year that his players think that he's a peanut and I got slammed but thing is, its actually true! A lot of blokes around Raggie land just simply dont like him.
I WAS IN MY USUAL POSITION ON SATURDAY AT RAGGIE LAND UNDER THE
VERANDAH & THERE SEEM TO BE SOME ARGUMENT'S BETWEEN THE PEOPLE
UNDER THE VERANDAH & NUMBER 4 FOR THE RAGGIES (WHEENAN I THINK) BEING
DRAGGED BY THE COACH -
& GOSH DID THE COACH & #4 EXCHANGE WORDS WHEN HE CAME OFF -
A PLAYER TOLD ME THERE FF NUMBER 4 WILL RETIRE AT THE END OF THE YEAR
& THERE ARE AFEW PLAYERS WHO RECON THAT TODD IS A VERY NEGATIVE COACH.
I LIKE TO GET AMOUNGST IT & SIT BACK & HEAR WHAT THE (PLAYERS) HAVE
TO SAY....
TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION - ( NOT EVERYONE ) BUT THERE ARE AFEW PLAYERS
AROUND THE CLUB WHO DONT LIKE HIM.
I CAN NAME THEM CAUSE I HEARD IT WITH MY OWN EARS BUT I WONT RAT
THEM OUT.
I SAW GROSSMAN & HE IS OUT FOR AWHILE, THE CLUB WILL MISS HIM.
THE RAGGIES HAD 6-7 A GRADE PLAYERS OUT ON SATURDAY & STILL WON.
CBCOC ARENT THAT GREAT THIS YEAR. THEY SHOULD HAVE WON.

Many 25's, a few send offs.
Good game, however Athelstone lost the game by losing the plot rather than Iggies winning the game IMO.

Can I say The Raggies should be undefeated but lost there second game for the year on saturday because of two reason’s.
1) There are some hot heads in that side but only due to ridiculous decisions made by the umpire that got a few Athelstone players firing there mouth off at the umpires.
2) The umpires were at there CHEATING best on Saturday & if anyone said’s they were fair then they know nothing about football.
The first game against walkerville where the umpire paid some ridiculous decisions in the last qtr & now this game against old iggies.
The raggies were up by 6 goals half way through the 3rd qtr & I joked to my mate (since the umpired were cheating all day) well the umpires have 6 goals to make up if they are going to win this game….. They as in the UMPIRES/ IGGIES. & can I tell you they did it…. You should have seen the umpires face when they walked past the raggies squad after the game….. A grin you will never forget.
You wonder why would you promote Amateur football if your going to have bloody idiots (umpires) like we did on Saturday.
Blublurag – you know the umpires name’s – you should put it on here so maybe the Amateur football league might think twice before giving them another football game to umpire.
I have restrained myself from writing anything nasty towards the ump’s but I’ll tell you the raggies better not have them two umpire’s again this year. (especially the short bloke)
Swingman were you at the game – what are your thoughts….

Cruzn9, I think you might be a bit biased. I certainly don't think they cheated. I actually said to a mate that the little bloke was getting in good positions to make decisions, but the other guy, taller blonde bloke was out of position and seemed to guess a bit as to what happened. I do think being called a f..... c... in front of their face might influence the 50/50 decisions. And yes, i was there, and I heard it more than once.
Hot heads - you betcha. Again, as an impartial - it cost you the game. For instance, Iggies bloke from 50, has a kick, another iggies bloke takes a mark in the goalsquare, apparently uncontested (may not have been because my view was blocked) and next thing, Trishy's being sent off. Suffice it to say, if you guys had shut up and not back chatted the umpires, and not get sent off, you would've won with a leg in the air.

& i still stick to what i said earlier, they were cheats... that little bloke umpired the raggies B grade grandfinal last yr & il tell ya his not a fan of the athelstone football club.
You said that little bloke was getting into the right position, how about when your iggies player whacked our bloke in front of your coaches box (clear as day) but the ball was kicked forward & hit a iggies bloke inside the 50 which resulted in a goal... you wonder why players & supporters were going off there tree. this is one example of many.
There are hot heads in the raggies team but the umpires were terrible all day. I did hear the Free's count was 37 to 18 favouring you know who (Iggies). & how many of those 37 free's resulted in goals. Whats done is done but i sure hope next time we play iggies we dont get those 2 clowns.

C9, I'm agreeing with you. But when you guys shut up and played footy you blitzed! You went from 3 goals down to 6 goals up in just over a quarter. I coached a team of hot heads last year and told them to get the umpires on side and you win the 50-50's. If you call someone a f'n'c all day of course he's gonna go against you - wouldn't you? he's only human, he's not a professional he's just a bloke trying to stay involved in the game.
I just don't understand teams who are much better than other teams giving away games because they want to mouth off.
if I were an Athelstone player, I'd be VERY dirty on those guys who continually mouth off. Did that demeanour hurt your cause last year (I don't know, I watched one Athelstone game last year)?
I can certainly understand your belief that he's a cheat. When I played I thought the same thing - nowadays I'm a bit more mellow and philosophical about it. The key to winning close games is sometimes keeping your mouth shut, and getting on with the stuff that actually wins games, kicking goals.
BTW - I think it's Vito the umpires spotter coach was out there. I'd be interested to see what he made of it.
