GRAND FINAL BABY!!! Great game by the lads yesterday everyone battled hard all day. Congratulations to the athlestone boys on a great season. all the best next year. A little bit disappointed in the st pauls guys for not stickin around for a beer after the game. chin up guys

Congratalions to the H.D.F.C. after their gutsy fought out win.Watching the game i thought the first half belonged to athelstone, not so as they missed alot of easy goals. The numbers from the backline were too good for houghton and athelstone's body language was positive going into the second half. After half time the Houghton coach made some pivotal moves.Changing the direction of the game,the dredlock boy into the middle,no18 to half forward line,no8 through the backline/middle area.Athelstone coached looked to go to defensive but the thing that lifted for houghton was their pressure and their group tackling,as the game moved on it was goal for goal and time just ranout for athelstone.Still a good result for athelstone football club.Umpiring was superb i thought,they looked after the player going for the ball and any late tackles or back chatting was given to any side.Final look into the grand final people can say henley has had a weeks break and houghton have had a hard game after yesterday but i think houghtons coach has got trust in his players.Who will get this result??????

Yep, thought Balla played well, always dishing out handballs from the bottom of packs and his influence around the stoppages was noticeable in the second half. Thought the defence was bloody good, Junior, Krunch and Newton nullifying the influence of Grivell, Bielak and Warner, especially with Athelstone's midfield, particularly Fenton and Piro, destroying us. After being four goals down at one stage, it was a great effort by the boys to dig deep and claw their way back in front. Commisserations to the Athelstone, they are a humble and great group of lads who I enjoyed playing against this year.

Now to go one better than we did in 2006...

I thought the dreadlocked guy turned the game around for use, with his pressure, tackling and most noticealbe his smoothing. It seemed to make ur team lift another gear that was needed.

Conditions were just about perfect. The oval has held up well this year and was in magnificent shape for the game.

Poor kicking from set shots cost Raggies in the 1st quarter and then they went defensive playing a loose man in their defense in the 3rd which I thought was a bad move as they had all the running momentum, maybe legs were starting to get heavy from previous week in the mud.

Nah mate, that was scrapped in the recent EB agreement in exchange for making me part of the heirarchy. I pretty much sold all you guys out.
