The Hawks know how to win finals Newman. Heard a young pissed Portland player was giving Marshy s*&t a couple of weeks ago about being too old and slow and that he was gonna run rings around him next year?? You know anything about this Piccapoo?? Think it was at the Palais??

Nah i dont no anything about that you know the palais isnt my watering hole anymore, better ask newman but sounds like a fair comment to me ;)

Seaton - Hodges

Roo and Modra - they still have to decide whether they will play at all next year

How different is this to what was proposed during the middle of the year?

middle of the year would have looked like Portland would be going down not Woody South
Only other real change may have been Walkerville staying down and Para Hills or SMOSH being the promoted team!

You have to win atleast 1 final to be promoted and Para Chokers have lost their last 3

surely playing finals is better than being relegated how many times in the past is it 3 out of 4 years

It is interesting that players put their hand up to stand Roo or be part of a strategy to stop him. Then you have the fwits on the sidelines in the past 2 games who just hurled abuse at him - probably why they are sitting on the sidelines - very safe there.....

Iggies have also reappointed Coach Dave LeMire for season 2010. Looking forward to a big year after finishing the year off strong (minus Rd 18) however will not have the services of Tyson and Murray who are travelling overseas.

Will welcome back big Carlo Calabrese with open arms next year though and look forward to him coming back through the C grade.....

j moody wont be playing with us this weekend, touch dissapointing for us but oh well we will move on and hopefully make him regret his decission

What are Portland thoughts now after Josh played in a winning Div 1 GF on Saturday did he make the right decision?

The whole issue was not about the actual decision, it was how it was reached. Of course he made the right one, in hindsight. It strained a few friendships at the time though, and was poorly handled. Everyone moves on though, and Josh was a still a regular at our club on many Saturday nights since. He has lots of mates there, and i know they were all glad to see him play in a flag.

I bet he'd swap it in a heartbeat though for an A grade premiership medal at Portland, with his mates.

Thanks Felch, good to hear that he was still a regular at your club. Maybe one day he will return to again play at Portland.

Still he has got a premiership medal and a Div 1 at that. As you know Felch some footballers never get to play in a GF, let alone a winning one, during their career.
