Interesting rumblings coming out of Para Hills...

Have already assembled 44+ players - many of whom won them a flag in D5 just two years ago. Would have to start asking some questions of where the most appropriate place to grade them would be. I have heard if they're in D7 it will be a similar season to Smithfield's run of dominance. Not sure what the answer is though!

Not really any different to Salisbury West except they just scrapped a side together for a year and then went bang again this year. Will be interesting to see how they stack up in D6 next year...

Anyone else starting to feel like this is becoming a bit of a yearly (and tiresome) tradition in the C9AFL?

Agree with Morrell in that there's no obvious non-draconian solution. But it's not a great look for the League and when teams go on winning sprees similar to SW this year it's not great for the League's competitive balance.

Happening more and more in recent times. It is the shift in balance that is partly to blame. Loyalty is diminishing, commitment of players is diminishing, clubs are struggling to maintain a status quo of keeping up with payment demands as well as success and sustainability.. Clubs and players both to blame, but no real clear answer to the above problem..

Do you keep clubs in the higher division and have 60 goal drubbings and B grade forfeits.. Or let them re-start and potentially re-load with success after a year out and then force an imbalance in lower divisions.. Tough one that either way people wont be pleased..

I recall posting that the SAAFL executive need more power the last time this issue came up and got howled down, but IMO they really should have more control and say over where teams are placed.

Forget the delegate system for these sort of strategic decisions.

If I were an all powerful overlord I would relegate Mawson Lakes (theyve struggled for quite a few years in a row now) and put Para Hills in D6.

Agree with Q.

But someone coming first with no one getting within 10 goals, or coming last in the alternative proposition is hardly ideal.

Carey doesn't have any mates, just acquaintances, one thing is for sure, if Para Hills are in Div 7 they will be the new Smithfield.
