Is this going to be the new team in 2010? ;)

i'm led to believe that TTG want in on div7 and div7r next year this i think they had C1 and C5???

i also believe paralowie are putting in a D grade although i dont think they would be strong enough for div7 7R so i would think that would be somthing like C3 or 4 and C5.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Well it must have been an entertaining game to watch from the sidelines at Kilburn oval on Saturday; the ball regularly moving the length of the ground in both directions, and 32 goals in total for the game probably the highest scoring game for the year that we've played in which is very unusual that that should happen in the final.

Congratulations to Houghton firstly on a great year, to bounce back from relegation and go straight back into grand final is a rare occurrence in the amateur league.

The Houghton players can be very proud of their effort on Saturday. To come back kicking 7 goals straight and seriously threaten a team when you've been 52 points down shows incredible heart. There are no complaints from us about the umpiring, the umpires rightfully paid more free kicks when the game became more willing in the third quarter, and we weren't playing in front or first to the ball in that period. We knew however that we would run the game out stronger, but in the end to win, we were forced to play the best football that we had all year - which again is a credit to Houghton.

We look forward to meeting again in Div 6 next year. We know how difficult it is to win up at Houghton, so we look forward to that challenge.

Some of the best clutch goals you'll see came from Dave Loveder from impossible angles in the last quarter when the game was there to be won. First a checkside with little daylight to aim at and then a drop punt from a tighter angle (?!). I hope he gets the recognition that he deserves when the team of the year is announced this week. If he doesn't I'm sure he won't mind, kicking goals like that in a last quarter of a GF is what dreams are made of.

I'd also like to acknowledge the support that the players get every week from our trainers Bernie and Lisa and runner Marty Jeffries, who are part of our team.

Maybe "Tea Tree Gully C1& C5"could fill the space of Ovingham for 2010 season in Div 7 and let Ovingham team re-group in a lower grade C5 & to survive as a club.
I’m sure Gully's teams would prefer to play at same ground each week & and they are strong club would do well in Div 7 comp. (maybe the next Henley)
The other clubs would be Broadview now back in Div 1 will pick up some new players in the high grade's and have been in Div 7 a few years back.(Broadview C2 & C6 )
This also removes the byes in C1 or C2 and Ovingham could fill this space in C5 OR C6
The other clubs that could do this would be Modbury C1 & C6 or Golden Grove C4 & C5 even though Golden Grove are in the lower grades they have very strong junior program.
(Is Henley going up for sure?)
Central United (from Div 6) only if Shark’s go up
Glenunga (from Div 6)
Angle Vale (Can they get 2 sides on the park?)
Flinders Uni
St Pauls OS
North Pines (Are they staying in Div 7?)
Adelaide Uni
Sacred Heart OC
Athelstone
Ovingham (Why would they go with 2 teams next year in Div 7?)
(Tea Tree Gully, Golden Grove, Modbury, or, Broadview) any could be in Div 7 next year?
What do you think? Could this happen in 2010 and who gets a new coach?

thinking about it now - it seems that the reflective nature of the c grades (c1-c6) hasn't really worked. should the amateur league go back to relegation style c grade or have a competition (as it used to) with all clubs that have four sides in it? i'm not sure given that athelstone and henley were two out of the best three sides in div 7 how this would affect the div 7 standard. this decision will affect whether clubs push up into div 7.

i'd expect tea tree gully to stay in div c1 and c5/c4 as they believe that there isn't too much of a difference in standard between the better sides of c1 and div 7 - something that's been argued about a lot. i'd expect broadview to stay in c6 due to the nature of their team.

i'm guessing that modbury would prefer to stay in c1 or even div 7 due to standard. I'm expecting ovingham to stay in div 7 - i'd think its much easier to get people to the club to play for an a grade side in div 7 than an a grade side in c2 or c5.

They can't stay down this time. They refused last year and then made the GF again, so its up they go.

well think of this scenario then......henley in c1 and c5...as there will be a spot in c1 with modbury going to c2.......

Doc said they would have screwed the bone back in place a couple of weeks ago, but it's too late to do anything now. Injections and a permanently crooked thumb don't seem worth it now :( :( :(

this is why im thinking c1 etc.rem houghton went bottom to gf div6 to 7 to div6 again. and really only just won. and the d gr did lose. div 6 may be too much for a c grade side. seems like a big jump again imoa
