Anyone got any thoughts as to how the ladder will look heading into the break, fwiw here is my view:
1st- Plympton
2nd- Pulteney
3rd- Hope Valley
4th- Rosewater
5th- Elizabeth
6th- Blackfriars
7th- Westminster
8th- Smithfield
9th- Kenilworth
10th- Ingle Farm

If results go as "expected" i believe this is how it will shape up. Its shaping to be a cracker of a 2nd half to the year, with anybody in the top 7 capable of beating each other.

Your kidding aren't ya. Kooka's travelling very poor and have done in last few years. Should have gone down to Div 6 as they are a Div 6 standard. Have no idea how FC or LM could have tipped kookas last week. Understand how zed can do it, but he has an excuse. The last 3 pre seasons I have heard.... kookas look alright this year etc etc..... but unfortunately same old story... just not good enough

ChocolateNBlue wrote:How would you know what goes on during the last 3 pre seasons?? unless you are actually there you shouldnt be passing judgement on what you have 'heard'. The last 3 pre seasons we have looked pretty damn good, but unfortunately its a lack of quality depth we are missing to cover injuries.
Also, it really pisses me off when ex players of the club (unfortunately there are a few) have the nerve to have a go at the club, bagging us, and then dont get off their asses or lift a finger to help turn things around. Absolutely pathetic.

I would know what happened in the last 3 pre seasons because I trained a few times in 2008, so when I mean it's what I have heard, I actually heard it while I WAS out at the club. Yes, I am an ex player but please show me where I have bagged the club - I just said they are not good enough for Div 5. Please tell me if finishing 9th and currently 9th in the last two years means the club is good enough...... I would love to see the club back in Div 3 or even Div 2 like the early 90's. As for your last point, helping out, I actually do something around the club, be it very small. The way to turn it around is to recruit better players and get them fitter than I think they are, and unfortunately this has proven very hard to do over the last few years, well since 2005 when we played in a grand final, a game that I also played in.

Stoirtap, i was referring to the ladder after this weeks games, but i still think elizabeth will be around the mark come the business end of the season, along with about 6 other sides!

I don't know if I'd have Valleys that high, they've had a pretty good draw thus far with Plympton, Elizabeth and Rosewater at home. Some locker room material for you ;)

I'd have to have a closer look at the fixtures, but on quality of sides that I've seen, I would say: Plympton, Rosewater, Pulteney, Elizabeth/Westminster/HV/Blacks (cannot be separated at the moment, I'm proudly sitting on the fence), Smithfield, Kenilworth, Ingle Farm.

Four teams competing for the last two finals spots IMO, it's going to be much excite. Maybe I've written off Smithfield a bit early but yeah, not everyone can make it...

And there I was thinking 3 of the current top sides (and finals favourites) and a grand final rematch, to welcome us to the div, was a pretty tough start to the season... :?

In the end it all evens out anyway. ;)

Was thinking that also messiah, i mean at the end of the day, rarely does ladder at the mid season break end up the same at the end of the year, and after Ingle Farm, we have BOS, Plympton, WOS, Pulteney and Rosewater, which will be prob the toughest 5 week stretch of the year. It will straighten us out no doubt, but the confidence we have generated in the last few weeks will hopefully allow us to put in some good performances in these matches and hopefully jag a couple of wins to set us up for the run home.
